The 2002 film “8 Mile” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 8th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to numerous retailers. The film, directed by Curtis Hanson, starred Eminem, Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and the late Brittany Murphy. It’s certainly worth noting that the film won an Academy Award for “Best Music, Original Song” in 2002.
The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X immersive sound on a BD-100 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code, compatible with Movies Anywhere. The tech specs for the films include 2160p video presentations with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range. The films vary in their Audio configurations but start with DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo and then go to DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround as well as on “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” not only do you get 5.1 but also a new Dolby Atmos sound mix — as well as Dolby Vision for the first time. NOTE:Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon had previously been released on 4K UHD Blu-ray in 2016 with HDR10 and 5.1 surround. So, a total of 10 out of 11 of these films are exclusive to this box set.

This will include all six volumes [previously released] of the classic shorts, for a total of 80 sound short films spanning across a 7-disc set. These shorts have been restored and you can find some info about that below.
“About the restorations: Each short has been newly scanned from original Hal Roach 35mm film elements. Remastered, uncut and beautifully restored, now you can see The Little Rascals like never before. With restorations so glorious, it will be like watching these iconic shorts for the first time!”

The show, as seen on Netflix, stars Nonso Anozie, Christian Convery, Aliza Vellani, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Dania Ramirez, and it features voice narration by James Brolin. It’s also worth noting that this series is produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr.‘s Team Downey production company.
Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.20:1 aspect ratio and a lossless 5.1 surround mix — presumably in DTS-HD Master Audio but yet to be confirmed. The film, directed and co-written by Robert Zemeckis, starred Kurt Russell, Gerrit Graham, Frank McRae, Deborah Harmon, Joe Flaherty, David L. Lander, Michael McKean, and Jack Warden.
The film has received a new 4K from the original camera negative. Tech specs for the release have not been fully detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio presumably with at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The sound configuration has not yet been detailed, but if it is the same as the 2019 Blu-ray, should again include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Mono lossless sound mixes. This upcoming 2022 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “Collector’s Edition” 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart included.

The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with presumably [at least] HDR10 form of high dynamic range. No specifics, again on tech specs, but I’d say this will include lossless audio for sure, likely in 5.1 and 2.0 configurations. It’s already known, and most worth certainly noting, that this will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc release only, with no Blu-ray included.
