First Pirates of the Caribbean film on 4K in January
The 2003 movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 2nd, 2022 via Disney, according to retailer sources. The film, the first in the franchise, directed by Gore Verbinski, starred Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Jonathan Pryce.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, in fact, the title has not yet been officially announced by the studio [Disney], but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known, from the cover art (pictured above) that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film included, compatible with Movies Anywhere. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, however, you can find the title for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Target — where the release date is currently listed.
