First Pirates of the Caribbean film on 4K in January

The 2003 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 2nd, 2022 via Disney, according to retailer sources. The film, the first in the franchise, directed by Gore Verbinski, starred Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Jonathan Pryce.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, in fact, the title has not yet been officially announced by the studio [Disney], but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known, from the cover art (pictured above) that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film included, compatible with Movies Anywhere. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, however, you can find the title for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Target — where the release date is currently listed.

2019 film The Aftermath on Blu-ray in June

The 2019 film The Aftermath starring Keira Knightley is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 25th via Fox. The film, directed by James Kent, co-stars Alexander Skarsgard and Jason Clarke. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and a digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below

2018 film “Colette” starring Keira Knightley comes to Blu-ray in December

The 2018 Wash Westmoreland directed film Colette starring Keira Knightley is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 11th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film, based on a true story, co-stars Eleanor TomlinsonDominic West, Fiona ShawAiysha Hart, and Denise Gough. This movie has received positive reviews from the critics during its theatrical run. In fact, it’s “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes, at time of writing, with a 86% rating from critics.

Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and Digital Copy of the film included. You can find this Blu-ray available already for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon. The “Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray this August

According to an early alert to retails the “Jack Ryan 5-Film Collection” it seems is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 21st via Paramount. The films had been rumored for 4K release individually, however now we get confirmation via this retail listing that they will be bundled – just as the first 4 films have been on both Blu-ray and HD-DVD formats. The release contains the following films:

  • Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” (2014)
  • The Sum of All Fears” (2002)
  • Clear and Present Danger” (1994)
  • Patriot Games” (1992)
  • The Hunt for Red October” (1990)
