Gore Verbinski directed the movie. It stars Sam Rockwell, Juno Temple, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, and Asim Chaudhry. It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 2011 film Rango gets a standard 4K in March

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The 2-disc release will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. A digital code (copy) of the film is also included, which is compatible with AppleTV or Fandango at Home (formerly VUDU). The 4K will include both the theatrical version (107 minutes) and the extended version (111 minutes).

The 1997 film Mouse Hunt comes to 4K in June

The 1997 film “Mouse Hunt” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via KL Studio Classics. Gore Verbinski directed the film, which Adam Rifkin wrote. It starred Nathan Lane, Lee EvansChristopher WalkenVicki Lewis, and Michael Jeter.

This release features a new master (by Paramount) from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. That Blu-ray will feature the new master of the movie.

The 2002 horror film “The Ring” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 15th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Gore Verbinski, starred Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, and Jane Alexander. Previously released this year as part of “The Ring Collection” set on 4K UHD Blu-ray (by Scream Factory), this will be the first time the film has been available for individual purchase on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format.

Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The standard 4K and 4K SteelBook will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. The bonus materials for the release have yet to be announced.

First Pirates of the Caribbean film on 4K in January

The 2003 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 2nd, 2022 via Disney, according to retailer sources. The film, the first in the franchise, directed by Gore Verbinski, starred Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Jonathan Pryce.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, in fact, the title has not yet been officially announced by the studio [Disney], but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known, from the cover art (pictured above) that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film included, compatible with Movies Anywhere. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, however, you can find the title for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Target — where the release date is currently listed.
