Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga on 4K and Blu-ray in August

The 2024 film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on August 13th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film was directed & co-written by George Miller, known for correspondingly directing all of the previous “Mad Max” franchise films. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, Tom Burke, George Shevtsov, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Charlee Fraser.
Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K and Blu-ray versions will each include a digital copy [of the film]. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc available for preorder at Amazon.
The bonus materials set to be included on the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases are listed below, with some being exclusive to the 4K release and noted accordingly.

It’s most certainly worth noting that there will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook for the film available (pictured below) on the same date [8/13] which is listed for preorder over at retailer Walmart. According to its artwork, this will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. It also has a placeholder page on Amazon but is yet to be a functional preorder. So, there’s a chance that this SteelBook may end up being a Walmart exclusive — although that is yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for any updates on this version.

It’s also certainly worth noting that a “Mad Max: 5-Film Collection“ on 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured below) will be released on September 24th. No Blu-ray version of this collection is planned. This set is now available for preorder over at Amazon and retailer Walmart.

As the world fell, young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is directed by Academy Award-winning director George Miller (Academy Award for Best Animated Feature – Happy Feet, The Mad Max franchise, The Witches of Eastwick). Miller wrote the script with Mad Max: Fury Road co-writer Nico Lathouris. The film is produced by Doug Mitchell and George Miller.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga stars Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queens Gambit) as Furiosa and Chris Hemsworth (Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Rush) as Dementus. The film also stars Alyla Browne (Three Thousand Years of Longing) and Tom Burke (BBC’s War & Peace and The Musketeers).
Later this year Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Black & Chrome Edition will be available, a version of the theatrical film which has the color removed in favor of a black a chrome aesthetic. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Black & Chrome Edition will feature an introduction by director George Miller.
