Edgar Wright’s Last Night in Soho on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 15th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-50 disc. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack,” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

RUMOR: Last Night in Soho on 4K and Blu-ray January

RUMOR time, folks. It appears that the 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 18th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to a retail source. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not yet been detailed, as it has not even officially been announced by the studio. So, I’m only considering this a rumor until it is officially announced. However, as mentioned, one dependable source is indicating the aforementioned release date on physical media. Both releases it appears will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning the 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy of the film). You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon. And, just in case Amazon decides to remove the release date, I’ve decided to take screenshots of each listing.

The New Mutants come to 4K and Blu-ray in November

The 2020 film “The New Mutants” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 17th, via Fox, according to an early retailer alert. The film, directed & co-written by Josh Boone, stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga. The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known that the 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. The Blu-ray will just include a digital code (copy) of the film. There’s no word yet on bonus materials set to be included on the release(s). Also, there’s no preorder listings yet for either the 4K or Blu-ray versions over at Amazon yet — but stay tuned. In the meantime, however, you can already find the film on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. They also will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below), also available for preorder now.

The 2020 film “Emma.“ starring Anya Taylor-Joy is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 19th, via Universal. The film, based on the classic Jane Austen novel and directed by Autumn de Wilde, co-stars Johnny Flynn, Bill Nighy, Callum Turner, Mia Goth, Josh O’Connor, Miranda Hart, Tanya Reynolds, Gemma Whelan, and Rupert Graves. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its DVD counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon and at retailer Best Buy. The bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

2015 Robert Eggers horror film “The Witch” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in April
The 2015 horror film “The Witch“ (a.k.a. “The VVitch”) written and directed by Robert Eggers is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 23rd, via Lionsgate. The film received much critical acclaim back in 2016, and it, in fact, remains “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes. This featured a cast of Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie, Harvey Scrimshaw, Julian Richings, Sarah Stephens, and Bathsheba Garnett.
Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray and a digital copy of the film included.
