Furiosa Black and Chrome Edition on 4K in September

The 2024 film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” the “Black & Chrome Edition” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 24th individually and as part of “Mad Max: 5-Film Collection“ via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film was directed & co-written by George Miller, known for correspondingly directing all of the previous “Mad Max” franchise films. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, Alyla Browne, Tom Burke, George Shevtsov, Lachy Hulme, John Howard, Angus Sampson, and Charlee Fraser. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.
“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Black & Chrome Edition is a version of the theatrical film which has the color removed in favor of a black a chrome aesthetic. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga Black & Chrome Edition will feature an introduction by director George Miller.”
There will an individual 4K UHD Blu-ray release of this version of the film. Also, the “Black & Chrome Edition” of “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” will be included with the “Mad Max: 5-Film Collection“ on 4K UHD Blu-ray (pictured below). No Blu-ray version of this collection is planned stateside. This set is now available for preorder over at Amazon, retailer Walmart, and online retailer GRUV. Stay tuned for a preorder listing for the individual 4K UHD Blu-ray of the Black & Chrome Edition.

NOTE: The standard version of “Furiousa: A Mad Max Saga” on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc will be released in August before this version. You’ll have to wait until September to get this version of the film physically. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K and Blu-ray versions will each include a digital copy [of the film]. The bonus materials set to be included on the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases are listed below, with some being exclusive to the 4K release and noted accordingly.

It’s most certainly worth noting that there will also be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook for the film available (pictured below) on the same date [8/13] which is listed for preorder over at retailer Walmart. According to its artwork, this will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. It also has a placeholder page on Amazon but is yet to be a functional preorder. So, there’s a chance that this SteelBook may end up being a Walmart exclusive — although that is yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for any updates on this version.

The 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 15th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound on a BD-50 disc. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack,” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

RUMOR time, folks. It appears that the 2021 film “Last Night in Soho” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 18th, 2022 via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to a retail source. The film, co-written & directed by Edgar Wright, stars Thomasin McKenzie, Matt Smith, Michael Ajao, and Anya Taylor-Joy.
The tech specs and bonus materials for the releases have not yet been detailed, as it has not even officially been announced by the studio. So, I’m only considering this a rumor until it is officially announced. However, as mentioned, one dependable source is indicating the aforementioned release date on physical media. Both releases it appears will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning the 4K will include its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will include its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy of the film). You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both available for preorder over at Amazon. And, just in case Amazon decides to remove the release date, I’ve decided to take screenshots of each listing.

The 2020 film “The New Mutants” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on November 17th, via Fox, according to an early retailer alert. The film, directed & co-written by Josh Boone, stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga. The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known that the 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. The Blu-ray will just include a digital code (copy) of the film. There’s no word yet on bonus materials set to be included on the release(s). Also, there’s no preorder listings yet for either the 4K or Blu-ray versions over at Amazon yet — but stay tuned. In the meantime, however, you can already find the film on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. The film, based on the classic Jane Austen novel and directed by Autumn de Wilde, co-stars Johnny Flynn, Bill Nighy, Callum Turner, Mia Goth, Josh O’Connor, Miranda Hart, Tanya Reynolds, Gemma Whelan, and Rupert Graves. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its DVD counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film.
