The Banshees of Inisherin on Blu-ray in December

The 2022 film “The Banshees of Inisherin” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 20th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney).  The film, written and directed by Martin McDonagh, stars Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon, and Barry Keoghan.  It is most certainly worth noting that this film is, at the time of writing, overwhelmingly “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.  You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Walmart.  The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

The film made its World Premiere in September to critical acclaim at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Best Screenplay Award for McDonagh and the Volpi Cup for Best Actor for Farrell. It went on to release theatrically in October, earning the highest opening per screen average of the fall.

 

Film Synopsis

From director-writer Martin McDonagh (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) comes a unique film starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. Although Pádraic (Farrell) and Colm (Gleeson) have been lifelong friends, they find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship, bringing alarming consequences for both of them.
