Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 2008 Disney / Pixar film “WALL·E” is officially getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray release on November 22nd via The Criterion Collection. This is the first collaboration between Disney/Pixar and Criterion and is not to be confused with the previously [Disney] released 2020 4K UHD Blu-ray. This release features a different and new 4K presentation as well as sound mixes, which were all approved by the film’s director.
The film, directed and co-written by Andrew Stanton, won an Academy Award for “Best Animated Feature Film of the Year” in 2009. It also featured the visual talent of Fred Ward and the voice talent of Jeff Garlin.
As mentioned, this comes from a new 4K scan of the film which was approved by Andrew Stanton. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby Atmos and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo sound mixes.
The 3-disc set will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart [featuring the new transfer of the film] as well as a second Blu-ray for extras. No digital copy of the film will be included, like with the previous Disney release. Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 2002 film “8 Mile” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 8th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment, according to numerous retailers. The film, directed by Curtis Hanson, starred Eminem, Kim Basinger, Mekhi Phifer, and the late Brittany Murphy. It’s certainly worth noting that the film won an Academy Award for “Best Music, Original Song” in 2002.
The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X immersive sound on a BD-100 disc. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code, compatible with Movies Anywhere. Amazon Commissions EarnedThe “Sony Pictures Classics 30th Anniversary 4K Ultra HD Collection” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 22nd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This limited edition box set includes a total of eleven Sony Pictures Classics films, listed below (in chronological order):
The tech specs for the films include 2160p video presentations with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range. The films vary in their Audio configurations but start with DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo and then go to DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround as well as on “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” not only do you get 5.1 but also a new Dolby Atmos sound mix — as well as Dolby Vision for the first time. NOTE: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon had previously been released on 4K UHD Blu-ray in 2016 with HDR10 and 5.1 surround. So, a total of 10 out of 11 of these films are exclusive to this box set.

Amazon Commissions Earned“Better Call Saul: Season Six” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 6th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The show, in its final season, created by Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, starred Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, Michael Mando, Tony Dalton, and Giancarlo Esposito.
The tech specs for the sixth season include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, spanning across a 4-disc set. You can now find the sixth season Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials included with the season’s Blu-ray release are listed below.
MAJOR UPDATE: It seems that a“Better Call Saul: The Complete Series” Blu-ray box set will definitely be coming to Blu-ray Disc stateside, but I’m still awaiting the full details from Sony. However, you can now find The Complete Series on Blu-ray for preorder over at Amazon. Stay tuned for further details soon, including artwork.

Amazon Commissions Earned“The Little Rascals: The Complete Collection (Centennial Edition)” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 15th via ClassicFlix. This will include all six volumes [previously released] of the classic shorts, for a total of 80 sound short films spanning across a 7-disc set. These shorts have been restored and you can find some info about that below.
“About the restorations: Each short has been newly scanned from original Hal Roach 35mm film elements. Remastered, uncut and beautifully restored, now you can see The Little Rascals like never before. With restorations so glorious, it will be like watching these iconic shorts for the first time!”
The tech specs include 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.37:1 (4×3 full frame) aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono lossless Mono sound, and each Blu-ray volume [out of six total] will be on BD-50 discs. The bonus disc will be on a BD-25. You can now find The Complete Collection Blu-ray set available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly from the ClassicFix.com website. Speaking of ClassicFlix’s website, you there can also preorder an exclusive bonus disc found in this set if you have previously purchased volumes 1-6 of their Blu-ray releases. Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 2021 TV series “Sweet Tooth: The Complete First Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 11th via Warner Archive Collection, part of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The show, as seen on Netflix, stars Nonso Anozie, Christian Convery, Aliza Vellani, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Dania Ramirez, and it features voice narration by James Brolin. It’s also worth noting that this series is produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr.‘s Team Downey production company.
Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.20:1 aspect ratio and a lossless 5.1 surround mix — presumably in DTS-HD Master Audio but yet to be confirmed. You can now find the Blu-ray finally available for preorder over at Amazon. There will be no bonus materials included with this release.

Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 1980 film “Used Cars” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 15th [as spine #67] in the Shout Select line from Shout! Factory. The film, directed and co-written by Robert Zemeckis, starred Kurt Russell, Gerrit Graham, Frank McRae, Deborah Harmon, Joe Flaherty, David L. Lander, Michael McKean, and Jack Warden.
The film has received a new 4K from the original camera negative. Tech specs for the release have not been fully detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio presumably with at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The sound configuration has not yet been detailed, but if it is the same as the 2019 Blu-ray, should again include DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Mono lossless sound mixes. This upcoming 2022 4K UHD Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “Collector’s Edition” 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart included.
