The 1979 film “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 10th via Shout! Studios. The film, co-directed by Allan Arkush and Joe Dante, starred P.J. Soles, Vincent Van Patten, Clint Howard, Dey Young, Mary Woronov, Paul Bartel, Dick Miller, Don Steele, and Ramones (Joey Ramone, Johnny Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, and Marky Ramone).

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Dual Mono lossless sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart included. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. The 4K release will include audio commentary tracks. This 3-disc set uses the third disc (Blu-ray) for additional special features (listed below).
