The 2019 film “Captain Marvel” starring Brie Larson, that just hit theaters yesterday, is already rumored to be coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc sometime this Summer, perhaps in June. This rumor comes according to some early retailer alerts going around. The title has not at all been officially announced yet by the studio (Disney). The film, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, features a supporting cast of Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Annette Bening, Lashana Lynch, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, and Clark Gregg.
Tech specs and bonus materials, of course, have not yet been detailed. It is known that the 4K release will come in the form of “combo pack” which means that the 4K will get a Blu-ray included and a Digital Copy of the film will be included with each version. There are currently pre-order listings for the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc versions of the film over at retailer Best Buy. Best Buy will also be getting an exclusiveSteelbook for the 4K release (pictured below) that is now available for pre-order.
Retailer Target will also be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray release of the film in a limited edition 40-page book style packaging (pictured below). That exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray book is available for pre-order as well over at Target. Lastly, stay tuned for any updates with further detailers regarding these releases.
EDITORIAL NOTE: Now this is only a “rumor” at this point, so take it with a “grain of salt” so-to-speak until we get an official release announcement, but here is some early release date news for you.
It would appear, in an early alert to retailers, that “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray Disc, and Blu-ray 3D on September 18th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The release is available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon on the said formats, just click the links above. Tech specs and bonus materials have not been detailed yet. It appears that the 4K and Blu-ray 3D will come in the form of “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc, and a Digital Copy of the film included – while the Blu-ray Disc release will include a DVD, and Digital Copy of the film. Stay tuned for further updates, and most importantly for an official press release announcement from the studio (Universal) confirming that rumored release date leaked by a certain retailer.
Also, there are going to be some cool exclusives available at the physical retailers, I’ve already scoped them all out, and will be going over them all below for those interested. More on that, as well as the other cover art for the Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D releases, further below, after the break.
EDITORIAL NOTE: This is considered a RUMOR and should only “be taken with a grain of salt” so-to-speak. Wait for the official announcement from the studio later in the year for the solid (set in stone) release date.
I know, It seems the rumors have been flying around a bit much lately, but we have ourselves yet another one. Thanks to my co-writer (Brendan) noticing a retailer (we will not name) making a slip-up, and leaking the release date, we can tell you when you can LIKELY expect Brad Bird‘s 2018 sequel “Incredibles 2” on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc. The date my co-writer claims to have seen was “9/14” – September 14th. This would technically come on a Friday, not a traditional Tuesday release. Disney and some other studios have actually done this over the years, so I wouldn’t rule it out as being the case.
However, the traditional (Tuesday) release date is 9/11 – if the date before-mentioned was perhaps removed, because it was incorrect, well then that actually perhaps is the release date? Keep that in mind, but as always with RUMORS, take it ALL also “with a grain of salt,” and wait for an official announcement from the studio (Disney).
Further below, after the break, I’ll be going over all the pre-orders of exclusive versions available at retailers. These are all up and official, just don’t put them together with our RUMORED release date. OK? OK. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Moving on.
