The 2025 film Roofman is coming to 4K in January

The 2025 film “Roofman“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 20th, 2026, via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Based on a true story, the film was directed & co-written by Derek Cianfrance. The movie stars Channing Tatum, Kirsten Dunst, Peter Dinklage, Juno Temple, Ben Mendelsohn, and LaKeith Stanfield. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

NOTE: There will not be an individual Blu-ray release available for this movie. You’ll have to opt for this 4K combo pack.

Bringing Out the Dead comes back to 4K in January

The 1999 film “Bringing Out the Dead” will be re-released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 13th, 2026, via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The film, directed by Martin Scorsese, starred Nicolas Cage, Patricia Arquette, John Goodman, Ving Rhames, Tom Sizemore, and Marc Anthony.

EDITORIAL NOTE: Even though this technically is a re-release, it’s not to be confused with the earlier [2024] Paramount Presents release. That release [which included a 4K disc] has since gone OOP (out of print). This new release [or re-release, rather] will make the movie in 4K once again available to consumers, on physical media.

The movie has been “newly remastered from the original camera negative. This exceptional new release was reviewed by Scorsese, cinematographer Robert Richardson, and editor Thelma Schoonmaker.”

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and also include a digital code (copy).

The 1997 film “Breakdown“ will finally get an individual 4K UHD Blu-ray release on December 30th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Jonathan Mostow directed and co-wrote the film. The movie starred Kurt Russell, J.T. Walsh, Kathleen Quinlan, M.C. Gainey, Jack Noseworthy, and Rex Linn. NOTE: This movie was earlier released on 4K UHD Blu-ray as an exclusive with a box set [“Paramount Scares: Volume 2“]. This will mark the first time that it has been available as a stand-alone release in North America.

The 1980 comedy Airplane! lands on 4K in December

The 1980 film “Airplane!“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 9th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The movie was co-written and co-directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. It starred Julie Hagerty, Robert Hays, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack, and Leslie Nielsen. It co-starred Lorna Patterson, Jonathan Banks, Frank Ashmore, Barbara Billingsley, and Stephen Stucker. It’s worth noting that the movie is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, as well as a digital copy of the film. That box set has since gone OOP (out of print) and goes for crazy prices. You can find the other two films in that set are each coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray individually. First, on November 4th, “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!“ comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray. Then, on December 9th, “Top Secret!“ will also come to 4K UHD Blu-ray. The 2002 film “Catch Me If You Can” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 9th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Steven Spielberg directed and produced the movie. The 2002 film adaptation of “Minority Report” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 9th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Steven Spielberg produced and directed this adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story. It starred Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell, Max Von Sydow, Samantha Morton, Steve Harris, and Neal McDonough. It’s worth noting that this movie remains “Certified Fresh” (by critics’ ratings) on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 2005 film “Aeon Flux“ (a.k.a. “Æon Flux”) is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 7th via Paramount Media Media Distribution. Based on the popular animated MTV series (of the same title), the movie was directed by Karyn Kusama. It starred Charlize Theron. It also co-starred Frances McDormand, Marton Csokas, Jonny Lee Miller, Sophie Okonedo, and Pete Postlethwaite. It’s worth noting that this motion picture is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range.
