Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning on 4K

The 2025 sequel “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on October 14th via Paramount. Christopher McQuarrie directed and co-wrote the film. It stars Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, and Henry Czerny. It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is rated both “Certified Fresh” based on reviews by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in 2.39:1 and 1.90:1 shifting aspect ratios, including Dolby Vision and HDR10 with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. NOTE: There will not be a standard Blu-ray release of this film on home video. If you want a Blu-ray, you’ll have to buy one of the two 4K 3-disc “combo packs” which include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart. A Blu-ray housing bonus materials will also be included. A digital copy of the film is also included with both of the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases.

The 1950 film Sunset Boulevard on 4K in August

The 1950 film “Sunset Boulevard” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 5th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. This will mark the film’s 75th anniversary. The legendary Billy Wilder co-wrote and directed the movie. It starred William Holden, Gloria Swanson, Erich von Stroheim, Nancy Olson, Fred Clark, and Jack Webb. It’s worth noting that this film is still “Certified Fresh” by critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p Black & White video presentation in a 1.37:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. It will feature lossless Dolby TrueHD 2.0 Mono sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy included. There is no information yet regarding the specifics of the bonus materials. However, you can likely expect legacy DVD & Blu-ray extras to be ported over.

Small Soldiers comes to 4K SteelBook in July

The 1998 film “Small Soldiers” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on July 22nd via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Joe Dante directed this movie, which Adam Rifkin co-wrote. It starred Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Jay Mohr, Denis Leary, Kevin Dunn, Dick Miller, and Phil Hartman.

The tech specs for the 4K release have yet to be detailed. But, you should expect at least a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio in at least HDR10 and with a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. Stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs as more information becomes available. This 4K SteelBook 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Although yet to be confirmed, a digital should also be included. Stay tuned for verification on that and the tech specs.

The 1995 film Clueless comes to 4K in July

The 1995 film “Clueless” will be released in 4K UHD Blu-ray format. It will also be available as a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook starting on July 8th. The distribution is managed by Paramount Home Media Distribution. This is according to retailers. The release will be a “30th Anniversary Limited Edition.” Amy Heckerling wrote and directed this movie. It starred Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd.

The details about this upcoming release have yet to be detailed by the studio. Tech specs should at least include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. However, stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs. Essentially, wait until we see the back of the packaging. That being said, it’s unknown what bonus materials will be included with the release. You can likely expect the legacy Blu-ray extras and a digital copy of the film. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The physical extras set to be included with the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook set are shown below.

The 2025 film “Novocaine” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. Dan Berk and Robert Olsen directed the film. It stars Jack Quaid, Amber Midthunder, Ray Nicholson, Jacob Batalon, and Matt Walsh. This film is “Certified Fresh” by the critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4K tech specs have yet to be detailed for either video or audio presentations. But, stay tuned for an update. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come as a “combo pack.” It will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, in 1080p HD, and a digital copy.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 comes to 4K in April

The 2024 film “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 15th. It will also be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured above) in two variations. This release is via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler. It features a live-action and voice cast. Some of the stars include Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves. The cast also includes Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and James Marsden. Additionally, there are Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, and Adam Pally.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The film, directed by Peter Segal, starred Chris Farley, David Spade, Brian Dennehy, Bo Derek, Dan Aykroyd, Julie Warner, Sean McCann, and Zach Grenier. It’s worth noting that this film will be celebrating its 30th anniversary next year in 2025.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound.
