The 1985 film St. Elmo’s Fire comes to 4K in June

The 1985 film “St. Elmo’s Fire” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Joel Schumacher directed and co-wrote the film. It’s celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It starred Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham, and Andrew McCarthy.

The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It includes Dolby Atmos, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo lossless mixes. The release will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon and online retailer GRUV. Bonus materials to be included with the release are listed below.

The 1990 film Ghost comes to 4K in late October

The 1990 film “Ghost” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd as part of the Paramount Presents line. Previously released on Blu-ray, as spine number 8 in the series, this will come as a new “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included along with a digital copy. The film, directed by Jerry Zucker, starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Tony Goldwyn, Rick Aviles, and Vincent Schiavelli. The tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound. Beavis and Butt-Head Do America on Blu-ray December

The 1996 animated motion picture Beavis and Butt-Head Do America is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 7th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, a spin-off of the MTV TV show [“Beavis & Butt-Head”], celebrating its 25th anniversary, was co-written & co-directed by creator Mike Judge, who also lent his voice talents to the lead characters and a few others. The movie also featured the voice talents of Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Robert Stack, and Cloris Leachman.

UPDATE: The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation and a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound mix, as well as a French Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo mix. As for extras, all of the special features from the previous DVD release are being ported over. The release will also come with a digital code (copy) of the film, which is compatible with iTunes [AppleTV] and VUDU. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.

1991 comedy Nothing But Trouble on Blu-ray in October

The 1991 comedy Nothing But Trouble is coming to Blu-ray Disc (for the first time) on October 26th, via Shout Select (Shout! Factory). The film, directed and co-written by Dan Aykroyd, starred Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Demi Moore, Taylor Negron, and Bertila Damas.

1986 film One Crazy Summer comes to Blu-ray in August

The 1986 film One Crazy Summer starring John Cusack is coming to Blu-ray Disc for the very first time on August 10th via Warner Archive. The film, written & directed by Savage Steve Holland, co-starred Demi Moore, Linda Warren, Joel Murray, Curtis Armstrong, Tom Villard, and Bobcat Goldthwait. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release have not yet been detailed, nor have bonus materials but perhaps stay tuned for an update on that.
