The 1985 film St. Elmo’s Fire comes to 4K in June

The 1985 film “St. Elmo’s Fire” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Joel Schumacher directed and co-wrote the film. It’s celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. It starred Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Ally Sheedy, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham, and Andrew McCarthy.
The movie has received a new 4K scan from the original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It includes Dolby Atmos, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo lossless mixes. The release will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere.
