Mickey 17 is coming to 4K and Blu-ray in May

The 2025 film “Mickey 17” will be released on May 13th on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Bong Joon Ho co-wrote & directed the film. The movie stars Robert Pattinson, Steven Yeun, Michael Monroe, Patsy Ferran, and Cameron Britton. This is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will each include a digital copy of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere. It’s also worth mentioning that a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release is coming on the same date.

Paddington in Peru comes to Blu-ray in April

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release the 2024 film “Paddington in Peru” on Blu-ray Disc on April 29thDougal Wilson directed the film. The cast includes Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Waters, Jim Broadbent, Carla Tous, Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas. Ben Whishaw provides the voice of “Paddington.” This film is “Certified Fresh” by critics and “Verified Hot” by audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Blu-ray tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come with a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

The 1996 film Kingpin is coming to 4K this May

The 1996 film “Kingpin” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 27th via KL Studio Classics. Bobby Farrelly and Peter Farrelly directed the comedy. It starred Woody HarrelsonBill MurrayRandy QuaidVanessa Angel, and Chris Elliott.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo, on a BD-100 disc. This 2-disc set will come as a “combo pack, ” including its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. That Blu-ray will include both the Theatrical Cut and the Extended Cut of the film. The 4K disc will feature only the Theatrical Cut.

The 1998 movie Dark City will get 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and Blu-ray Limited Edition sets on June 24th. The releases are via Arrow Video. Alex Proyas directed and co-wrote the film. The movie starred Rufus Sewell, William Hurt, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connelly, and Richard O’Brien. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes. This release will feature both the Director’s Cut and Theatrical Cut in either 4K or HD.
