Pan’s Labyrinth comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in October

The 2006 film Pan’s Labyrinth is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 1st via New Line (Warner), according to an early alert to retailers. The film, from Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro, starred Ivana BaqueroAriadna GilSergi López, Maribel Verdú, and Doug Jones. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed but stay tuned for an update. You can find the film available now to pre-order over Amazon and Best Buy. It is known that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray and a digital copy of the film included.

1955 film “This Island Earth” on Blu-ray in July

The 1955 Science Fiction / Horror film This Island Earth is coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 9th via Scream Factory. The film, directed by Joseph M. Newman, starred Jeff MorrowFaith DomergueRex Reason, Lance FullerRussell Johnson, and Douglas Spencer. The tech specs for the release include 1080p video from a new 4K scan in both the 1.85:1 and 1.37:1 aspect ratios with (presumably) DTS-HD Master Audio sound – although not yet confirmed. The Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon and directly through Shout! Factory. Details about the release and bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.

Tim Burton’s Dumbo comes to 4K and Blu-ray June

The 2019 live-action Tim Burton directed version of “Dumbo” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on June 25th via Disney. The film features a cast of Colin FarrellMichael KeatonDanny DeVito, Eva GreenAlan Arkin, and Finley Hobbins.

Tech specs for the 4K include 2160p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 7.1 Master Audio sound. Each release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting a Blu-ray included, the Blu-ray getting a DVD included, and a digital copy of the film (compatible with Movies Anywhere) with both. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray both available for pre-order over at Best Buy. UPDATE: the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for pre-order over at Amazon. The 2019 film The Aftermath starring Keira Knightley is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 25th via Fox. The film, directed by James Kent, co-stars Alexander Skarsgard and Jason Clarke. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and a digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is now available for pre-order over at Amazon.
