Romero and Argento film Two Evil Eyes on 4K in August

The 1990 film “Two Evil Eyes” co-directed by George A. Romero and Dario Argento is getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray release on August 24th via Blue Underground. The film featured a cast of Adrienne BarbeauHarvey Keitel, Martin Balsam, E.G. Marshall, John Amos, and Tom Atkins. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio from a new 4K restoration in both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound. The new 4K restoration here came from the uncensored original camera negative.

Nomadland with Frances McDormand on Blu-ray in April

The 2020 film “Nomadland” starring Frances McDormand is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 27th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). The film, which is nominated for a total of six Academy Awards (including “Best Picture”), based on a book (written by Jessica Bruder) was directed by Chloé Zhao. This movie co-stars David StrathairnLinda May, and Charlene Swankie. It’s also worth noting that this film is, at this time, “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes based on critics’ reviews. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now finally find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailers Best Buy, Target, and Walmart as well as online retailer Deep Discount. There’s no Amazon preorder listing yet and because Disney doesn’t seem to like them, it may be a while before you can purchase it from there but stay tuned for an update on that. The show, which aired on [adult swim], featured 10 episodes in its first season and was deemed “Certified Fresh” over on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect score. Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and a 5.1 surround sound audio presentation — presumably in a lossless format, although not yet confirmed. 2021 film Chaos Walking is coming to 4K and Blu-ray in May

The 2021 film “Chaos Walking” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on May 25th via Lionsgate, according to retailers. The film, directed by Doug Liman, stars Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Nick Jonas, Cynthia Erivo, Demián Bichir, and Ray McKinnon. The tech specs and bonus materials for the 4K and Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, as it’s awaiting an official announcement, so stay tuned for an update. It is known that the 4K and Blu-ray releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” (via the artwork) meaning that the 4K UHD Blu-ray will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with a DVD, and both will include a digital code (copy) of the film. In the Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood on 4K in June

The 1993 film “In the Line of Fire” starring Clint Eastwood is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 15th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, according to a retailer listing. The film, directed by Wolfgang Petersen, co-starred John MalkovichRene Russo, Dylan McDermott, Gary Cole, and the late Fred Thompson.

UPDATE: The title has now officially been announced by Sony. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K video presentation, via a new 4K remaster from the original camera negative, in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The release will also come with the original theatrical sound mixes via 5.1 surround sound and 2.0 stereo sound mixes in the DTS-HD Master Audio lossless format. There will not be a Blu-ray Disc included with this release, initially, and instead, only a digital code (copy) of the film will be included — as quoted from the press release below.
