2021 film Godzilla vs. Kong on 4K and Blu-ray in June

The 2021 film “Godzilla vs. Kong” is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on June 15th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. This latest in the “MonsterVerse” was directed by Adam Wingard. Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgård, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby BrownRebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, and Demián Bichir. It’s worth noting, at the time of writing this, the film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ forms of high dynamic range as well as Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Each release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will include a digital code (copy) of the film.

UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available over at Amazon, as well as at retailer Target. Stay tuned for when Amazon preorder listings go live for both versions of the film. Also, there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available as a retailer exclusive over at Best Buy. It’s not yet a functional preorder and is only stating coming soon on its placeholder page. The art for that 4K SteelBook is expected to be what I’ve originally shown a bit below.

2015 film Sicario gets a 4K SteelBook in June at Best Buy

The 2015 film “Sicario” will be getting a 4K Blu-ray Disc SteelBook exclusively over at retailer Best Buy on June 15th via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Denis Villeneuve, starred Emily BluntJosh BrolinBenicio Del Toro, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Donovan, Victor Garber, and Daniel Kaluuya. Tech specs for the Blu-ray of the film include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. This release will come with a digital copy of the film. You can now find the 4K Blu-ray Disc Exclusive SteelBook available for preorder over at Best Buy.

Romero and Argento film Two Evil Eyes on 4K in August

The 1990 film “Two Evil Eyes” co-directed by George A. Romero and Dario Argento is getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray release on August 24th via Blue Underground. The film featured a cast of Adrienne BarbeauHarvey Keitel, Martin Balsam, E.G. Marshall, John Amos, and Tom Atkins. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio from a new 4K restoration in both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono sound. The new 4K restoration here came from the uncensored original camera negative.

The film, which is nominated for a total of six Academy Awards (including “Best Picture”), based on a book (written by Jessica Bruder) was directed by Chloé Zhao. This movie co-stars David StrathairnLinda May, and Charlene Swankie. It’s also worth noting that this film is, at this time, “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes based on critics’ reviews. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now finally find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at retailers Best Buy, Target, and Walmart as well as online retailer Deep Discount. There’s no Amazon preorder listing yet and because Disney doesn’t seem to like them, it may be a while before you can purchase it from there but stay tuned for an update on that.
