The 1997 film “Dante’s Peak” comes to 4K in May

The 1997 film “Dante’s Peak” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 27th via KL Studio Classics. Roger Donaldson directed the film. It starred Pierce Brosnan, Linda Hamilton, Elizabeth Hoffman, and Charles Hallahan. It also featured Grant Heslov, Jamie Renée Smith, and Jeremy Foley. Brian Reddy, Peter Jason, and Tzi Ma completed the cast.
UPDATED: Note that this title was originally slated for a February release date, but that was pushed back to April. And now it’s been pushed back a month yet again.
The movie has received a brand new master from a 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound and 2.0 Stereo lossless audio, on a BD-100 disc. This 4K release will be a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.
