Tarantino’s Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 on 4K in January

The 2003 and 2004 films “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” will get standard 4K UHD Blu-ray releases (individually) on January 21st via Lionsgate. The films, both written & directed by Quentin Tarantino, starred Uma Thurman, Lucy Lui, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, and David Carradine. It’s worth noting that both of these films are “Certified Fresh” based on critic reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K releases include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. Each release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy of the film included. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray of “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” and “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with these releases are listed below.

1997 film Gattaca will get a standard 4K release in June

The 1997 film “Gattaca” will be getting a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on June 15th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. This news, from an early retailer listing, comes not even a month after the film just received a limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release — which you can read about here. This release will be identical except it will come in a standard black 4K case. You can now find the standard 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.

This movie has been newly remastered in 4K from the original camera negative. The 2018 film Down A Dark Hall starring Uma Thurman and AnnaSophia Robb is coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 16th via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Rodrigo Cortés, co-stars Isabelle FuhrmanVictoria MorolesNoah SilverTaylor Russell, and Rosie Day. Tech specs for the film include full 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come with a Digital Copy of the film included.
