1975 film Rollerball is coming to 4K in November

Amazon Commissions Earned

The 1975 film “Rollerball” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 22nd via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The film, directed by Norman Jewison, starred James Caan, John Houseman, John Beck, Moses Gunn, Maud Adams, Pamela Hensley, and Barbara Trentham.

The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with presumably [at least] HDR10 form of high dynamic range.  No specifics, again on tech specs, but I’d say this will include lossless audio for sure, likely in 5.1 and 2.0 configurations.  It’s already known, and most worth certainly noting, that this will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray Disc release only, with no Blu-ray included.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  You also can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder directly via the ShoutFactory.com website with an exclusive bonus poster included, while supplies last.  No word yet on the bonus materials set to be included with this release, as it states they’re in progress, but stay tuned for an update.

1984 film The Company of Wolves on 4K in November

Amazon Commissions Earned

The 1984 fantasy film The Company of Wolves is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in “Collector’s Edition” form on November 22nd via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The film, directed & co-written by Neil Jordan, starred Angela Lansbury, Sarah Patterson, Graham Crowden, Kathryn Pogson, Stephen Rea, Georgia Slowe, Micha Bergese, and Terence Stamp.

The tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed but you can expect a 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with likely [at least] HDR10 form of high dynamic range.  No word yet on the audio but I’m willing to bet that you can expect at least a lossless Stereo 2.0 mix.  Also, the extras are “currently in progress” so check back later for an update on that as well.  The 2-disc Collector’s Edition release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly via the  ShoutFactory.com website, where you’ll get an exclusive poster (while supplies last).

Amazon Commissions Earned

The Halloween 4K Collection (1995-2002) is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 4th via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The release will include the following three films (and versions):

  • “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” (1995)
    • Theatrical Cut (88 min) / Producer’s Cut (95 min)
  • “Halloween: H20” (1998) Theatrical Cut (86 min)
  • “Halloween: Resurrection” (2002) Theatrical Cut (94 min)

Tech specs for the releases include 2160p 4K video presentations, with presumably at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range.  The aspect ratios will be 1.85:1 for “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” and 2.35:1 for the latter two sequels.  Audio will be presented in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo for all three films.

The bonus materials have not yet been officially announced.  It has been hinted by Justin Beahm that his Reverend Entertainment is working on some new bonus materials for the “Halloween: Resurrection” film specifically.  But, again, the special features are “in progress” and will be announced later.  So, stay tuned for an update on both.

This 4K set will come in the form of an 8-disc set with each film getting its own thick packaging and individual array cases (pictured below) with the Blu-ray Disc counterparts, housed inside a larger thick cardboard case.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray set available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly via the ShoutFactory.com store, where you’ll get 3 exclusive bonus posters (while supplies last).

The Return of the Living Dead on 4K in October

Amazon Commissions Earned

The 1985 cult classic horror/comedy The Return of the Living Dead is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 18th via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The film, directed by Dan O’Bannon, starred Clu Gulager, Don Calfa, James Karen, Thom Mathews, Beverly Randolph, John Philbin, Jewel Shepard, Miguel A. Núñez Jr., Brian Peck, Linnea Quigley, and Mark Venturini.

The tech specs for the release will include a 2160p video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with [likely at least] HDR10 form of high dynamic range and presumably a lossless sound mix in either/or 5.1 or 2.0 configuration(s).  Perhaps they’ll even do a Dolby Atmos mix?  I can’t yet say for certain because the official tech specs have yet to be announced, along with the extras to be included with the release but stay tuned for a later update on that.

The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included and seemingly another Blu-ray for extras, in what is said to be a 3-disc set. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly via ShoutFactory.com where you’ll find an exclusive poster.  Also, Shout! Factory Store will have an exclusive enamel pin set and you can find that [limited to 1000] set available for preorder now.
