The 2007 film 1408 gets a 4K SteelBook in January

The release will include both the theatrical and director’s cuts of the movie, each in 4K on its own individual 4K disc. Technical specifications for the 4K UHD Blu-ray [Discs] include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible). The audio configuration(s) include lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround for the theatrical cut only. Meanwhile, the Director’s Cut will feature Dolby Atmos sound. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart [featuring both cuts] included. It will also include a digital copy.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured in further detail below), an Amazon exclusive, is now available for preorder.

Arrow Video has given the movie a new restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The Blu-ray tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and Blu-ray Limited Edition are now available for preorder at Amazon. You can also preorder directly via the Arrow Video website. The physical extras set to be included on these limited edition sets can be seen pictured below.

The Unholy Trinity comes to Blu-ray in August

The 2024 film The Unholy Trinity is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on August 26th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. Richard Gray directed the movie. It starred Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, Brandon Lessard, Gianni Capaldi, David Arquette, and Tim Daly.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The Blu-ray will include a digital copy of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere. No bonus materials will be included with this release. The Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon, GRUV, and Walmart.

1996 film The Long Kiss Goodnight on 4K in April

The 1996 film “The Long Kiss Goodnight” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 8th via Arrow Video. This release will come as a limited edition set. The film was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Shane Black. It starred Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick MalahideDavid Morse, and Brian Cox.

This features a new 4K restoration from the original 35mm negative approved by director Renny Harlin. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround, and lossless 2.0 stereo sound. The 1999 film Deep Blue Sea is coming to 4K in March

The 1999 film “Deep Blue Sea” will be released on March 18th via Arrow Video on 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and also Blu-ray Disc Limited Edition. Renny Harlin directed the film. This movie starred Samuel L. Jackson, Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michael Rapaport, Stellan Skarsgård, LL Cool J, Aida Turturro, Cristos, and Ronny Cox.

The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original camera negatives by Arrow Films approved by director Renny Harlin. The 1997 film “Jackie Brown” will get a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on January 21st via Lionsgate. The film was written & directed by Quentin Tarantino. It starred Pam Grier, Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, Chris Tucker, and Robert De Niro. It’s worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the standard 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. This 4K will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy of the movie.
