The 2017 film The Shape of Water on 4K in November

The 2017 film “The Shape of Water” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 26th via The Criterion Collection. The Academy Award-winning 2018 Best Picture of the Year, directed & co-written by Guillermo del Toro, starred Sally Hawkins, Richard Jenkins, Michael Shannon, Octavia Spencer, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Doug Jones. Aside from winning four Academy Awards, the film is still “Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s most certainly worth noting that this film has already received a 4K UHD Blu-ray release back in 2018, yet this will feature a different visual presentation.

The movie has received a 4K digital master, supervised by director Guillermo del Toro. The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon. Wonka comes to 4K and Blu-ray Disc in late February

The 2023 film “Wonka” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on February 27th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.  The film, directed by Paul King, stars Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman, Calah Lane, Keegan-Michael Key, Paterson Joseph, Matt Lucas, Mathew Baynton, Sally Hawkins, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, and Hugh Grant.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound.  Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound.  Both releases will include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.  You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon.  It’s worth noting that retailer Walmart will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which you can find available for preorder.

Spencer starring Kristen Stewart on Blu-ray in January

The 2021 film Spencer is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 11th, 2022 via Neon — distributed by Decal. The film, a biography about the late Diana Spencer (Diana, Princess of Wales), was directed by Pablo Larraín and stars Kristen Stewart, Timothy Spall, Jack Farthing, Sean Harris, Stella Gonet, and Sally Hawkins. It is most certainly worth noting, that at the time of writing, this film is currently deemed “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The 2014 version of the film “Godzilla” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 23rd via Warner. The film, directed by Gareth Edwards, starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Sally Hawkins, Juliette Binoche, and David Strathairn. The tech specs for the release include a 2.40:1 aspect ratio video presentation in HDR10 form of high dynamic range with Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its original Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film.
