The 2003 film The Rundown comes to 4K in August

The 2003 film The Rundown is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 26th via KL Studio Classics. Peter Berg directed the movie. It starred Dwayne Johnson (“The Rock”), Seann William ScottChristopher WalkenRosario DawsonJon GriesEwen BremnerWilliam Lucking, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

This features a 4K master, which comes from a new 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 forms of high dynamic range. It will include lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

Star Wars Ahsoka First Season on 4K in December

The Disney+ original series Star Wars: Ahsoka – The Complete First Season will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 3rd via Lucasfilm (Disney). The show stars Rosario Dawson, David Tennant, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, Ray Stevenson, and Hayden Christensen.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, spanning across a 2-disc set (each on a BD-100 disc).

Kevin Smith’s Clerks 3 on 4K exclusively at Best Buy

The 2022 sequel “Clerks III” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 6th via Lionsgate exclusively at retailer Best BuyNOTE: There will be a Blu-ray release of the film, as previously reported.  There had been some confusion regarding the release date for physical media but that has now been cleared up.

The film, written & directed by Kevin Smith, stars Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, and of course Kevin Smith (as “Silent Bob”).

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p 4K video presentation and Dolby Atmos sound.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film.

You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook [again, exclusively] available for preorder only over at retailer Best Buy.  The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

Zombieland: Double Tap comes to 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 sequel “Zombieland: Double Tap” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 21st, 2020 via Sony. The film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, features a cast of Woody HarrelsonJesse EisenbergEmma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Zoey Deutch, Rosario Dawson, Luke Wilson, Avan Jogia, and Thomas Middleditch. Tech specs for the 4K release include IMAX Enhanced video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each getting a digital code (copy) of the film included. You can now find both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at Amazon. It should also be noted that retailer Best Buy will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook for the release (pictured below) that is also now available for preorder.

Wonder Woman Bloodlines on 4K and Blu-ray

The 2019 DC Universe Movie “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines” is coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on October 22nd via Warner. The film, directed by Justin Copeland and Sam Liu, features the voice talents of Rosario Dawson (as “Wonder Woman”), Marie AvgeropoulosJeffrey Donovan, Adrienne C. Moore, Kimberly Brooks, Courtenay Taylor, Constance Zimmer, and Michael Dorn. Tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray releases have not yet been fully detailed. You can, however, visually expect the 4K to come with HDR10 form of HDR (high dynamic range) and 1080p HD video on Blu-ray. Both should be in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and receive lossless surround sound mixes. Stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs for the releases. One can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for pre-order over at Amazon. It’s certainly worth noting that you can watch the trailer for the film HERE (on YouTube). The 2018 DC Universe Movie “Reign of the Supermen” is coming to both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc formats on January 29th, 2019 via Warner. The film features the voices of Jerry O’Connell (Superman / Clark Kent), Rebecca Romijn (Lois Lane), Rainn Wilson (Lex Luthor), Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern / Hal Jordan), Jason O’Mara (Batman / Bruce Wayne), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (The Flash), Nyambi Nyambi (Martian Manhunter), Cameron Monaghan  (Superboy), Patrick Fabian (Hank Henshaw), and Tony Todd (Darkseid).

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include 2160p video in both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video and 5.1 lossless sound – likey DTS-HD MA.
