The Forever Purge on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2021 film “The Forever Purge” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 28th, via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Everardo Gout, produced by Jason Blum & Michael Bay, stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Josh Lucas, Leven Rambin, Cassidy Freeman, Will Patton, Will Brittain, and Sammi Rotibi.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-66 disc. Meanwhile, the tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will get its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will get its DVD counterpart, and both will include a digital code (copy) of the film which is compatible with Movies Anywhere. You can now find both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with each release are listed below.

“Bad Boys For Life” on 4K and Blu-ray in April

The 2020 sequel “Bad Boys For Life” sure seems to be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on April 21st, via Sony, according to multiple retailer listings. The film, directed by Michael Bay, stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Nuñez, Kate del Castillo, Nicky Jam, DJ Khaled, and Joe Pantoliano. The tech specs for the 4K and Blu-ray releases have not yet been detailed and bonus materials have not yet been announced but stay tuned for an update once the title gets officially announced, likely this week. The releases will both come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will include the Blu-ray, the Blu-ray will include the DVD, and each comes with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the film on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon as well as retailers Best Buy and Target. Speaking of those retailers, each will be getting its own exclusive release of the film. Best Buy will be getting an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which is now available for preorder. Finally, Target will be getting an exclusive Blu-ray release featuring alternate cover art and a movie poster which is also now available for preorder.

Michael Bay film “13 Hours” with John Krasinski on 4K UHD Blu-ray in June

The 2016 Michael Bay directed film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi starring John Krasinski is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 11th, via Paramount. The film, based on true events, co-stars Pablo SchreiberJames Badge Dale, David Denman, Dominic Fumusa, Max Martini, Alexia Barlier, and David Costabile. The tech specs for the 4K release have not yet been detailed but you can expect a 2160p presentation with at least the HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound (as found on the previous Blu-ray). The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. The bonus materials from the original Blu-ray release will be the only form of extras.

“Transformers: Ultimate 5-Movie Collection” on 4K UHD Blu-ray November

In an early alert to retailers we get word that Paramount plans to release Transformers: The Ultimate 5-Movie Collection to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 6th. All five of these films are already available on the 4K format, but are being finally bundled together, a considerable bit more affordable than buying the films individually. Tech specs will be identical to the previous (individual releases) including 4K video with both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of High Dynamic Range as well as Dolby Atmos sound. No mention of new bonus materials set to be included on the release. In fact, bonus materials will be primarily (aside from commentary tracks) included on the original Blu-ray Disc releases, which will be included in this 10-disc “combo pack” set. A digital copy of each of the five films will be included. This set is available for PRE-ORDER now over at Amazon.

“Bad Boys I & II” 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook Exclusive coming to Best Buy

Retailer Best Buy is getting an exclusive Steelbook for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release of Michael Bay films “Bad Boys I & II” on September 4th via Sony. If you’re looking for more info on the 4K release of these films, refer back to what I had reported near the end of May. Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include full 2160p video with HDR10 type High Dynamic Range, said to be fully restored with Dolby Atmos sound for both films.

“Bad Boys” 1 & 2 Collection comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in September

Sony Pictures today has officially announced plans to bring the two Michael Bay directed films “Bad Boys” and “Bad Boys II” bundled together in a “Bad Boys I & II Collection” to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 4th. The films both starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. The tech specs include fully restored video in 4K with HDR10 High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. The box set does include Blu-ray Discs of both of the films as well. Bonus materials will be just those ported over from the Blu-ray.
