1982 film Cat People is headed to 4K in June

The 1982 film Cat People is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in “Collector’s Edition” on June 28th via Scream Factory.  The film, a remake directed by Paul Schrader, starred Nastassja Kinski, Malcolm McDowell, Ruby Dee, Ed Begley, Jr., Annette O’Toole, and the late John Heard.

The tech specs for the release will include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range.  The sound format has yet to be detailed and the extras are now in production, so stay tuned for a later update.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will come with its Blu-ray counterpart.  You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon as well as directly via Shout! Factory‘s website.

Kubrick film A Clockwork Orange on 4K in September

According to retailer listings, the 1971 film A Clockwork Orange is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 21st, via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The title has yet to be officially announced by the studio (Warner) but stay tuned for an update on that. The film, written, produced, and directed by Stanley Kubrick, starred Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee, Warren Clarke, James MarcusJohn Clive, Adrienne Corri, Michael Tarn, David Prowse, Sheila Raynor, and Philip Stone.

The tech specs for the release include a 4K 2160p video presentation in the 1.66:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray standard release available for preorder over at Amazon but there is a placeholder page. Also, it is now available to preorder over at retailer Best Buy. It’s most certainly worth noting that there will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available as an exclusive over at retailer Best Buy (pictured below), which is available now for preorder.

2019 film Bombshell comes to Blu-ray in March

The 2019 film Bombshell starring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, and Margot Robbie is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 10th, via Lionsgate. The film, based on a true story & directed by Jay Roach, co-stars John Lithgow, Allison Janney, Malcolm McDowell, Kate McKinnon, Connie Britton, Liv Hewson, Stephen Root, and Mark Duplass. UPDATED: Tech specs for the Blu-ray include video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with  Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Yes, you read that correctly. The Blu-ray Disc will come in the form of a “combo pack” with it getting a DVD counterpart and digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the Blu-ray listed for preorder over at Amazon.
