The 1999 film Deep Blue Sea is coming to 4K in March

The 1999 film “Deep Blue Sea” will be released on March 18th via Arrow Video on 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition and also Blu-ray Disc Limited Edition. Renny Harlin directed the film. This movie starred Samuel L. Jackson, Saffron Burrows, Thomas Jane, Jacqueline McKenzie, Michael Rapaport, Stellan Skarsgård, LL Cool J, Aida Turturro, Cristos, and Ronny Cox.
The movie has received a new 4K restoration from the original camera negatives by Arrow Films approved by director Renny Harlin. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition (pictured below) and the Blu-ray Limited Edition are now available for preorder at Amazon. The bonus materials included with these limited edition releases are listed below.

The Halloween 4K Collection 1995-2002 in October

“The Halloween 4K Collection (1995-2002)“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 4th via Scream Factory (Shout! Factory). The release will include the following three films (and versions):
- “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” (1995)
- Theatrical Cut (88 min) / Producer’s Cut (95 min)
- “Halloween: H20” (1998) Theatrical Cut (86 min)
- “Halloween: Resurrection” (2002) Theatrical Cut (94 min)
Tech specs for the releases include 2160p 4K video presentations, with presumably at least HDR10 form of high dynamic range. The aspect ratios will be 1.85:1 for “Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers” and 2.35:1 for the latter two sequels. Audio will be presented in DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo for all three films.
The bonus materials have not yet been officially announced. It has been hinted by Justin Beahm that his Reverend Entertainment is working on some new bonus materials for the “Halloween: Resurrection” film specifically. But, again, the special features are “in progress” and will be announced later. So, stay tuned for an update on both.
This 4K set will come in the form of an 8-disc set with each film getting its own thick packaging and individual array cases (pictured below) with the Blu-ray Disc counterparts, housed inside a larger thick cardboard case. Charlie’s Angels (2000) comes to 4K October
The 2000 film adaptation of “Charlie’s Angels“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 22nd via Sony. The film, based on the TV series of the same title and directed by McG, starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Lui, Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell, Tim Curry, Kelly Lynch, John Forsythe, Crispin Glover, LL Cool J, Tom Green, and Luke Wilson. Tech specs for the 4K (although vague in the press release) would seem to include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio from a new scan with the HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range along with Dolby Atmos sound and even the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 mix.
UPDATE: You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for pre-order over at Amazon. The 4K release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that you will also get a Blu-ray Disc and a digital copy of the film included. Bonus materials set to be included on this 4K release and housed on the original Blu-ray are listed below.
