Bram Stoker’s Dracula gets 4K anniversary SteelBook

The 1992 film “Bram Stoker’s Dracula“ will be officially getting a “25th Anniversary Edition” 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release on October 4th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starred Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, and Keanu Reeves.
This new 4K SteelBook release will feature some new extras as well as Dolby Vision for the first time, unlike the previous [debut] 2017 4K UHD Blu-ray release. That being said, tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range along with Dolby Atmos as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo lossless sound mixes. It will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart along with a digital code (copy) of the film.

The Matrix Resurrections on 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2021 sequel “The Matrix Resurrections” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 8th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, co-written and directed by Lana Wachowski, stars Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jonathan Groff, Jessica Henwick, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci, Telma Hopkins, Eréndira Ibarra, Toby Onwumere, Max Riemelt, Brian J. Smith, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and each version including a digital code (copy) of the film.

The 2001 film “Hardball“ starring Keanu Reeves is officially making its debut to the Blu-ray Disc format on September 21st, via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Brian Robbins, co-starred Diane Lane, John Hawkes, Julian Griffith, and Michael B. Jordan.
This, as mentioned will be the first time the film has been available in the Blu-ray format. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run gets Blu-ray in July

The 2021 film “The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on July 13th via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Tim Hill, features the voice talents of Tom Kenny, Bill Fagerbakke, Rodger Bumpass, Clancy Brown, Mr. Lawrence, Carolyn Lawrence, Awkwafina, Reggie Watts, Jill Talley, and Matt Berry. And it even features a special appearance by Keanu Reeves. The tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been fully detailed but you can expect a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio. No specifics yet on the sound presentation, but I expect to have an update on that soon. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning it will include a DVD and presumably a digital code (copy) of the film. You now can find the Blu-ray listed over at Amazon with a placeholder page, but it is not yet functional as a preorder. Stay tuned for an update on that.
