The 1989 Ron Howard film Parenthood on 4K in May

The 1989 film “Parenthood“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 26th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Ron Howard co-wrote and directed the film, which starred Steve Martin. It co-starred Mary Steenburgen, Dianne Wiest, Jason Robards, Rick Moranis, Martha Plimpton, Keanu Reeves, Dennis Dugan, and Joaquin Phoenix. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. It will also come with a digital code (copy) compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc.

The Devil’s Advocate will arrive on 4K in March

The 1997 film “The Devil’s Advocate“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on March 10th via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios).

Taylor Hackford directed the movie, which starred Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino. It co-starred Charlize Theron, Jeffrey Jones, Connie Nielsen, Craig T. Nelson, and Judith Ivey.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have not yet been fully detailed, but you can expect a 2160p video presentation [in its original 2.39:1 aspect ratio] with (at least) HDR10 and lossless surround sound. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Also, the bonus materials have not yet been detailed, so stay tuned for an update. Good Fortune comes to 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2025 film “Good Fortune” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on December 9th via Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Aziz Ansari wrote, directed, and stars in the movie. It co-stars Seth Rogen, Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer, and Sandra Oh. It’s worth noting this motion picture is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. The 4K SteelBook will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 comes to 4K in April

The 2024 film “Sonic the Hedgehog 2” will be coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on April 15th. It will also be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured above) in two variations. This release is via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler. It features a live-action and voice cast. Some of the stars include Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, and Keanu Reeves. The cast also includes Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, and James Marsden. Additionally, there are Tika Sumpter, Krysten Ritter, and Adam Pally.

The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (or HDR10) form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will come as “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, along with a digital copy. NOTE: No individual Blu-ray Disc release will be available for this film.

The 2005 film Constantine comes to 4K in February

The 2005 film “Constantine” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on February 18th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The film, based on the comic book “Hellblazer,” was directed by Francis Lawrence. The cast included Keanu Reeves, Rachel Weisz, Shia LaBeouf, Djimon Hounsou, Tilda Swinton, and Peter Stormare. The movie will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year (2025). This release will include the theatrical cut and the uncut versions of the film.

Here’s some interesting information on the restoration.

“The 4K restoration of Constantine was completed at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Motion Picture Imaging (MPI) and was sourced from the original camera negative.  The restoration was overseen by director Francis Lawrence.”

The 2000 film “The Gift” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 3rd via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The film, directed by Sam Raimi and co-written by Billy Bob Thornton, starred Cate Blanchett, Giovanni Ribisi, Keanu Reeves, Katie Holmes, Greg Kinnear, and Hillary Swank.

This comes from a new 2024 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound. John Wick Chapters 1-3 4K SteelBook Set at Walmart

The “John Wick Chapters 1-3: Stash Book Collection – SteelBook Box Set” will be available exclusively at retailer Walmart on July 31st via Lionsgate. The set includes the first three films in the franchise:

  • “John Wick” (2014)
  • “John Wick: Chapter 2” (2017)
  • “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” (2019)

It will not include the fourth film (chapter) in the franchise. All three films star Keanu Reeves as the title character. Tech specs for each film include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” will include the Dolby Vision form of high dynamic range.
