The 2019 sequel “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum”starring Keanu Reeves is officially coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Lionsgate. The film, directed by Chad Stahelski, co-stars Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, and Anjelica Huston. The tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of High Dynamic Range with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect and Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of “combo pack” with the 4K getting the Blu-ray, the Blu-ray getting a DVD, and each getting a digital copy (code) of the film.
The 3-disc set will include all three films in the trilogy in just their 4K versions only with no Blu-ray Disc counterparts. Digital copies of the films are said to be included. I’m not sure if this means these will lack bonus materials or not, as they are housed on the Blu-ray Disc for the first film. The first film, originally released back in 1999, is now celebrating its 20th anniversary. So, that’s likely the marketing choice made here by Warner. Considering the rather expensive price tag, I think only the ultimate fans will be making a purchase of the set. That being said, the 4K Steelbook set is now available for pre-order over at Best Buy.
Science fiction thriller “Replicas“ featuring Keanu Reeves and Alice Eve is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 16th via Lionsgate. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray doesn’t have a functional pre-order listing yet over at Amazon, but there is a placeholder. Bonus materials set to be included on the release are listed below.
