The 2007 film 1408 gets a 4K SteelBook in January

The release will include both the theatrical and director’s cuts of the movie, each in 4K on its own individual 4K disc. Technical specifications for the 4K UHD Blu-ray [Discs] include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible). The audio configuration(s) include lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround for the theatrical cut only. Meanwhile, the Director’s Cut will feature Dolby Atmos sound. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart [featuring both cuts] included. It will also include a digital copy.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured in further detail below), an Amazon exclusive, is now available for preorder.

The 1990 film The Grifters on 4K and Blu-ray in January

The 1990 film “The Grifters” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 21st via The Criterion Collection. It was directed by Stephen Frears & produced by Martin Scorsese and starred John Cusack, Angelica Huston, Annette Bening, Pat Hingle, and Jeremy Piven.

The movie has received a new 4K digital restoration, approved by director of photography Oliver Stapleton. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 surround sound. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. 1986 film One Crazy Summer comes to Blu-ray in August

The 1986 film One Crazy Summer starring John Cusack is coming to Blu-ray Disc for the very first time on August 10th via Warner Archive. The film, written & directed by Savage Steve Holland, co-starred Demi Moore, Linda Warren, Joel Murray, Curtis Armstrong, Tom Villard, and Bobcat Goldthwait. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release have not yet been detailed, nor have bonus materials but perhaps stay tuned for an update on that. Disaster film 2012 comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray in January

The 2009 disaster film “2012” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 19th, 2021 via Sony. The film, directed by Roland Emmerich, starred John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Thandie Newton, Danny Glover, and Woody Harrelson. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 2.40:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos as well as the original DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film. UPDATE: the 4K UHD Blu-ray is listed now for preorder over at Amazon.
