Kevin Smith’s Dogma comes to 4K in December

The 1999 film “Dogma” is finally coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 9th via Lionsgate / Lionsgate Limited. Kevin Smith wrote, produced, directed, and co-starred in the movie. It starred Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Linda Fiorentino, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Jason Mewes, Janeane Garofalo, Alanis Morissette, and Jason Lee. The film also co-starred the late Alan Rickman and George Carlin. It’s certainly worth noting that this movie is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
EDITORIAL NOTE: It’s also worth mentioning that this movie has been OOP (out of print) on the Blu-ray format for a long time. So, it’s great to see it will finally be back available on physical media.
The movie has received a new 4K restoration. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. The releases will both come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart, as well as a digital copy of the movie included.
The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The standard 4K release will be available at other retailers. The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below in detail) is now available exclusively for preorder via Lionsgate Limited.
The 4K SteelBook will include one physical extra, a 25th-anniversary Dogma: Revelations of the Easily Offended booklet. The bonus materials included with both 4K releases are listed below.

The 2024 film “The 4:30 Movie” is coming to Blu-ray Disc and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on November 5th via Lionsgate. The film, written & directed by Kevin Smith, stars Austin Zajur, Nicholas Cirillo, Reed Northrup, Siena Agudong, Kate Micucci, Ming Chen, Betty Aberlin, Method Man, Ralph Garman, Sam Richardson, Ken Jeong, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, Justin Long, Harley Quinn Smith, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, and Jason Biggs.
The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. Both the 4K SteelBook and Blu-ray releases will come as a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and each getting a digital copy. You can now find the Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook exclusively available for preorder at Amazon. Yes, the 4K SteelBook will be an Amazon exclusive. However, the Blu-ray will be available at all retailers. The following bonus materials are set to be included with the releases.

NOTE: There will be a Blu-ray release of the film, as previously reported. There had been some confusion regarding the release date for physical media but that has now been cleared up.
The film, written & directed by Kevin Smith, stars Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, Trevor Fehrman, Austin Zajur, and of course Kevin Smith (as “Silent Bob”).

The 1995 film “Mallrats“ will be getting a “25th Anniversary Special Edition“ Blu-ray Disc release on September 29th, via Arrow Video. The film, written & directed by Kevin Smith, starred Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, Renee Humphrey, Jason Mewes, Ethan Suplee, Priscilla Barnes, Michael Rooker, and the late great Stan Lee. The release will come with both the original theatrical cut and an extended cut, which have been restored and were approved by Kevin Smith and the film’s cinematographer David Klein. Tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. You can now find the Special Edition Blu-ray is now available for preorder over at Amazon.
