Harry Potter Anniversary 8-Film Collection on 4K

The film “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone“ will get a 20th Anniversary 8-Film Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray box set on November 2nd via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The extravagant box set, being released to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the first (2001) film in the franchise, will be packaged in a replica of the “Hogwart’s Express” train (as pictured above). The 8 films in the franchise set to be included with the set are listed below.

  • “Harry Potter and the Sorceror’s Stone” (2001)
  • “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” (2002)
  • “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” (2004)
  • “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” (2005)
  • “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (2007)
  • “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (2009)
  • “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” (2010)
  • “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” (2011)

The tech specs for the releases should include the previous 2160p video presentations in the original aspect ratios with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound for each film. This set will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will also include the Blu-ray Disc counterpart in 1080p HD. All of this spanning across a 17-disc set. It’s unclear if a digital copy of each film will be included or not here, yet, but stay tuned for a possible update on that soon. The bonus materials included with the release are detailed a bit further below, including some physical extras such as a Hogwart’s Express ticket and a 32-page behind-the-scenes collectible booklet.

Ammonite starring Kate Winslet comes to Blu-ray in January

The 2020 film “Ammonite” starring Kate Winslet is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 12th via Universal. Yes, this comes as a bit of a last-minute announcement. The film, written and directed by Francis Lee, co-stars Saoirse Ronan, Gemma Jones, Fiona Shaw, Claire Rushbrook, Alec Secareanu, and James McArdle. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD presentation in the 1.85:1 and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound on a BD-25 (25 gigabytes single-layered) Blu-ray Disc. The release on Blu-ray can now be found to preorder over at Amazon. The only bonus material that is set to be included with the release is listed below.

  • The Making of AMMONITE: Stars Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan join filmmakers to discuss how they were able to convey the extraordinary depth of the film’s two main characters, Mary Anning and Charlotte Murchison.

“Killing Eve” Season 3 on Blu-ray in September

The TV series “Killing Eve: Season 3“ is coming to Blu-ray on September 15th, via Image Entertainment, according to an early retailer listing. The show, which airs on BBC America and AMC, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, stars Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh. Tech specs and bonus materials for the release have not yet been detailed. You can now find this Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at Amazon.

Lastly, it is certainly worth mentioning here that this would be the first season of the show that isn’t released directly by BBC Studios if indeed Image Entertainment is distributing this. Based on the cover art, this could be true and not a typo in the listing, but I’ll be looking and making sure this is in fact true regarding the distributor — as other retailers start to list this. Killing Eve: Season Two comes to Blu-ray in June

The BBC America TV series “Killing Eve: Season Two“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 18th via BBC Studios. The show, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, stars Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia, and Owen McDonnell. Tech specs for the release have not yet officially been detailed but you likely can expect 1080p video in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound – just as with the first season. You can find the Blu-ray now available to pre-order over at Amazon. The 2-disc set will include the following bonus materials.

  • Killing Eve characters Eve, Villanelle, and Carolyn
  • The closet of Killing Eve’s costume designer

The 2018 film “Lizzie“ starring Chloe Sevigny and Kristen Stewart is slated to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 11th via Lionsgate. The film, based on the Lizzie Borden family murders from 1892, was directed by Craig William Macneill. The Blu-ray tech specs for the release have yet to be official detailed, but stay tuned for an update. You can likely expect 1080p video and DTS-HD 5.1 MA sound – although not yet confirmed. 2018 film “Colette” starring Keira Knightley comes to Blu-ray in December

The 2018 Wash Westmoreland directed film “Colette“ starring Keira Knightley is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 11th via Universal, according to an early alert to retailers. The film, based on a true story, co-stars Eleanor Tomlinson, Dominic West, Fiona Shaw, Aiysha Hart, and Denise Gough. This movie has received positive reviews from the critics during its theatrical run. In fact, it’s “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes, at time of writing, with a 86% rating from critics.

Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include 1080p video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The Blu-ray release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and Digital Copy of the film included. You can find this Blu-ray available already for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.
