Watchmen Chapter II on 4K and Blu-ray in December

The 2024 DC animated movie “Watchmen: Chapter II” comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 3rd via Warner Bros. Discovery Entertainment. The film, from Warner Bros. Animation, is based on the 1986 graphic novel series “Watchmen” by writer Alan Moore and illustrator Dave Gibbons.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Both versions will include a digital copy. The original animated TV series “Super Friends!: The Complete Collection” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The show, which ran on ABC from 1973 through 1985, has been remastered and will be finally getting its HD release, for the very first time. It includes all 93 episodes of the Hanna-Barbera produced 1973 TV series via the following:
- Includes the “Lost Episodes”
- “The All-New Super Friends Hour” (1977-1978)
- “Challenge of the Super Friends” (1978-1979)
- “The World’s Greatest SuperFriends” (1979-1980)
- “Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show” (1984-1985)
- “The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians” (1985-1986)

Black Adam comes to 4K and Blu-ray in January

The 2022 DC film “Black Adam” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on January 3rd, 2023 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, based on the DC comics character and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and Pierce Brosnan.
The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Both versions will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the 4K getting its Blu-ray counterpart, the Blu-ray getting its DVD counterpart, and each including a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.
You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc available for preorder over at retailers Amazon and Walmart. UPDATE: You can now also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder over at retailer Best Buy. There will be retail exclusives too, starting at Walmart with an exclusive limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray Funko Pop! Gift Set (pictured below) and now available for preorder.
As mentioned above, there will be other retailer exclusives for this film. Retailer Best Buy will have an exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook (pictured below) which is now available for preorder. Peacemaker First Season on Blu-ray in November
The HBO and DC original series “Peacemaker: The Complete First Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on November 22nd via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The show, which was created by James Gunn, in its first season stars John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Chukwudi Iwuji, Annie Chang, Lochlyn Munro, and Robert Patrick.
The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation and lossless 5.1 surround sound, presumably in DTS-HD Master Audio although yet to be confirmed, spanning across a 2-disc set [both using BD-50 discs]. The 2021 TV series “Sweet Tooth: The Complete First Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on October 11th via Warner Archive Collection, part of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The show, as seen on Netflix, stars Nonso Anozie, Christian Convery, Aliza Vellani, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Dania Ramirez, and it features voice narration by James Brolin. It’s also worth noting that this series is produced by Susan Downey and Robert Downey Jr.‘s Team Downey production company.
Tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.20:1 aspect ratio and a lossless 5.1 surround mix — presumably in DTS-HD Master Audio but yet to be confirmed.
