The 2000 comedy Road Trip comes to 4K in June

The 2000 comedy “Road Trip” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on June 24th via KL Studio Classics. Todd Phillips directed and co-wrote this movie. It starred Breckin Meyer, Seann William Scott, Amy Smart, Tom Green, Fred Ward, and DJ Qualls. It also co-starred Rachel Blanchard, Paulo Costanzo, Anthony Rapp, Andy Dick, Horatio Sanz, and Ethan Suplee.

The theatrical cut (93 minutes) has received a new master. Paramount Pictures created this new master from a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10. It will feature lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included. The Blu-ray will include the theatrical cut and the UNRATED cut (94 minutes). That unrated cut comes from an HD master.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. Customers can also preorder directly via Kino Lorber’s website. The bonus material included on this release is listed below, sorted by disc.

The 1995 film Clueless comes to 4K in July

The 1995 film “Clueless” will be released in 4K UHD Blu-ray format. It will also be available as a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook starting on July 8th. The distribution is managed by Paramount Home Media Distribution. This is according to retailers. The release will be a “30th Anniversary Limited Edition.” Amy Heckerling wrote and directed this movie. It starred Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Breckin Meyer, Brittany Murphy, and Paul Rudd.

The details about this upcoming release have yet to be detailed by the studio. Tech specs should at least include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix. However, stay tuned for an update on the exact tech specs. Essentially, wait until we see the back of the packaging. That being said, it’s unknown what bonus materials will be included with the release. You can likely expect the legacy Blu-ray extras and a digital copy of the film. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. 1996 film The Craft gets 4K Collector’s Edition in May

The 1996 film “The Craft“ is officially getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray “Collector’s Edition” release on May 17th by Scream Factory (Shout! Factory).  The film, directed and co-written by Andrew Fleming, starred Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell, Rachel True, Skeet Ulrich, Christine Taylor, and Breckin Meyer.

This comes from a new 4K restoration done by Sony.  The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with presumably HDR10 form of high dynamic range and a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix, although not yet confirmed.  The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will include its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.  You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray Collector’s Edition available for preorder over at Amazon or directly via ShoutFactory.com where you’ll get an exclusive poster (while supplies last).

Creepshow Season 2 on Blu-ray in December

The TV series “Creepshow: Season 2“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 7th, via RLJE Films. The original TV series, as seen on Shudder, is executive produced by makeup special effects legend Greg Nicotero. The cast for season 2 included Kevin Dillon, Ted Raimi, Ali Larter, Thomas Howell, Iman Benson, Josh McDermitt, Ashley Laurence, Keith David, Ryan Kwanten, Breckin Meyer, Molly Ringwald, Eric Edelstein, Barbara Crampton, Denise Crosby, Justin Long, D’Arcy Carden, Kiefer Sutherland, Joey King, Anna Camp, and Adam Pally.

The 2001 comedy “Rat Race” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 1st via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Jerry Zucker, co-starred Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Cuba Gooding Jr., Whoopi Goldberg, Seth Green, Jon Lovitz, Breckin Meyer, and Amy Smart.
