The 1997 film Mimic is coming to 4K in January

The release will include both the theatrical and director’s cuts of the movie, each in 4K on its own individual 4K disc. Both have received a 4K restoration, approved by Guillermo del Toro. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray [Discs] include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), each on a BD-100 disc. The audio configuration(s) include lossless DTS-HD Master Audio in 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo. The 3-disc set will come as a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc counterpart [featuring both cuts] included.

You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update on that. You can preorder directly via Kino Lorber’s website. The bonus materials included with the release are detailed below, sorted by disc.

Technical specifications for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), on a BD-100 disc. The audio presentation has not yet been detailed, but should come in a lossless format, such as DTS-HD Master Audio. The 2-disc release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart.

The tech specs [for each film] on 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio, accompanied by Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), and lossless 5.1 and 2.0 stereo sound, all on a BD-100 disc [for each]. The audio should be in DTS-HD Master Audio. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across a 2-disc set. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD MA 5.1 sound, on a 2-disc set.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available for preorder at Amazon. The Blu-ray, however, is not yet available at Amazon to preorder, so stay tuned for an update. You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder at online retailer GRUV. Also, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder via online retailer MovieZyng. Lastly, the only bonus material set to be included with the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases is a featurette titled “The Making of The Americas.”

American Psycho gets 25th Anniversary Edition 4K

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The release will be the UNRATED Uncut Version (102 minutes), not the theatrical R-rated version.

The release will include some very imaginative packaging with a certain twist for those who are fans of the Huey Lewis and the News album “Sports.” The 4K disc will come packaged inside a CD jewel case along with some business cards to die for, as well as replica credit and Blockbuster membership cards (as seen below).

The 25th Anniversary Collector’s Edition 4K UHD Blu-ray is now available exclusively for preorder via the Lionsgate Limited website. It’s also worth noting that a VHS “Be Kind, Rewind” edition of the film will also be available in December via Lionsgate Limited as an exclusive. The bonus materials set to be included on this new 4K set are listed below.
