“Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 26th via NEON (distributed by Decal Releasing).

Matt Johnson directed, co-wrote, and co-stars in the film. It co-stars Jay McCarrol, along with Ben Petrie, Ethan Eng, Reid Janisse, Michael Scott, Maddy Wilde, and Ethan Keyes. It’s most certainly worth noting that the movie is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Blu-ray tech specs include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its DVD counterpart included.

The film Hamnet comes to 4K and Blu-ray in March

The 2025 film “Hamnet” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 3rd via Universal Studios Home Entertainment.

Chloé Zhao directed, executive-produced, and co-wrote the screenplay for the motion picture. The movie is based on the novel (of the same title) written by Maggie O’Farrell. O’Farrell also actually co-wrote the script. Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes both served as producers. The movie starred Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal. Its supporting cast included Justine Mitchell, Emily Watson, David Wilmot, James Lintern, Joe Alwyn, Zac Wishart, and Freya Hannan-Mills. It’s worth noting that this is “Certified Fresh” (by critics) and “Verified Hot” (by audiences) on Rotten Tomatoes.

UPDATED: The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have now been detailed. It will include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both releases will feature a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

“Cobra Kai: The Complete Series“ is finally coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 3rd via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

The show, established as a follow-up to the original “Karate Kid” films, ran from 2018 through 2025 for a total of six seasons, primarily on Netflix. It starred Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Its supporting cast included Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, and Martin Kove. The tech specs for the Blu-ray set include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, spanning across a 13-disc set.

EDITORIAL NOTE: This is the very first time in the United States that this show has come to Blu-ray Disc. Stateside, the show has received individual DVD releases for the first five seasons. The final (sixth) season will also get a DVD release on March 3rd. For now, this set will be the only way to own the show in HD on physical media in its entirety. Eventually you will see individual releases for each season, one would think, but that’s only based on my own speculation.

Falling Skies: Complete Series on Blu-ray in January

The TNT original “Falling Skies: The Complete Series“ is coming to Blu-ray on January 6th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The show ran for five seasons and was executive-produced by Steven Spielberg, via Amblin Entertainment. It starred Noah Wyle, Drew Roy, Maxim Knight, Will Patton, and Sarah Carter.

The tech specs for the 10-disc Blu-ray set include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and lossless Dolby TrueHD 5.1 surround sound.

The 2025 film “The Smashing Machine“ is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray in January via A24. The film was written and directed by Benny Safdie. It stars Dwayne Johnson (“The Rock”) and Emily Blunt. This film is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray version include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound. It seems that the 4K UHD Blu-ray might be an exclusive to the A24 Shop. Also, the release date has only been indicated as sometime in January 2026. Stay tuned for an update on that as well.

You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray or Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart. In the meantime, though, you can preorder both versions directly via the A24 Shop. The bonus materials included on the physical media releases are listed below.

Scott Pilgrim Takes Off on Blu-ray in December

The complete limited series “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 2nd via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The TV series was originally available streaming on Netflix. It was co-created by BenDavid Grabinski and the creator of the “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novels, Bryan Lee O’Malley. It’s certainly worth noting that Edgar Wright served as an executive producer on the series. The animated series featured the voices of Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Allison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, and Mae Whitman.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound.

The 2025 nature documentary / limited series “The Americas” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on November 18th, courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Tom Hanks narrated the mini-series. It was seen on NBC and streaming on Peacock. It was nominated for 2 Primetime Emmys.

The 1980 film “Airplane!“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 9th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The movie was co-written and co-directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. It starred Julie Hagerty, Robert Hays, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Peter Graves, Lloyd Bridges, Robert Stack, and Leslie Nielsen. It co-starred Lorna Patterson, Jonathan Banks, Frank Ashmore, Barbara Billingsley, and Stephen Stucker. It’s worth noting that the movie is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-66 disc. The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, as well as a digital copy of the film. That box set has since gone OOP (out of print) and goes for crazy prices. You can find the other two films in that set are each coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray individually. First, on November 4th, “The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!“ comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray. Then, on December 9th, “Top Secret!“ will also come to 4K UHD Blu-ray. Those titles are both now available for preorder at Amazon.
