The release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included, as well as a digital copy of the film. EDITORIAL NOTE: This movie has previously been released on the 4K UHD Blu-ray format as a part of what was called “ZAZ: The Collection!,” released back in 2024. That box set has since gone OOP (out of print) and goes for crazy prices. You can find the other two films in that set are each coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray individually. First, on November 4th, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! comes to 4K UHD Blu-ray. Then, on December 9th, Top Secret! will also come to 4K UHD Blu-ray. Those titles are both now available for preorder at Amazon.

The Conjuring: Last Rites comes to 4K and Blu-ray

It’s certainly worth noting that “The Conjuring: 4-Film Collection” will be available on Blu-ray on November 25th, also via Warner. This set is now available for preorder at Amazon and GRUV.

TRON and TRON: Legacy on 4K on September 16th

The 1982 film TRON and its sequel TRON: Legacy (2010) are individually coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 16th via Disney. The first film [“TRON”] was directed and co-written by Steven Lisberger. It starred Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, and David Warner. The second film [“TRON: Legacy”] was directed by Joseph Kosinski. It starred Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Bruce Boxleitner, and Michael Sheen.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray releases of each film include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.20:1 aspect (for the first film) and 2.35:1, shifting to a 1.78:1 aspect ratio (for IMAX footage of the second film), featuring Dolby Vision and HDR10, accompanied by Dolby Atmos sound. Each release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Also, a digital copy of each film will be included. Here is some information about the restoration and remastering, taken from the press release just issued by Disney.

“TRON was digitally scanned and carefully restored by The Walt Disney Film Restoration team, who corrected dirt, warping, and other imperfections to ensure pristine image quality. The work was supervised by director Steven Lisberger. TRON: Legacy has been remastered in High Dynamic Range from the original digital sources under the supervision of director Joseph Kosinski. Meticulously remastered, both films transport audiences back to the digital frontier with an experience more immersive, dynamic, and visually spectacular than ever before.”

The TRON 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook and the TRON: Legacy 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook have listings now available for preorder at Walmart. They’ve apparently sold out, but stay tuned for an update.

Here is a glimpse at some 3840 x 2160 (4K resolution) images that Disney has provided press. They were originally in TIFF format and around 45MB each in size. I have converted them to lossless PNG format, and they’re still as large as 20MB or so. So, be patient loading these. Enjoy!

Creepshow Complete Series on Blu-ray in November

The 2019 TV show “Creepshow” in its Complete Series is set to arrive on Blu-ray Disc as a box set on November 11th via Shudder. The show ran for a total of four seasons with 26 episodes. Directors on the series included big names in horror such as Greg Nicotero, John Harrison, Joe Lynch, and Tom Savini.

The tech specs for the release include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound, spanning across a 9-disc set. The Last Drive-In Double Feature Blu-ray in October

The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs will get a Double Feature Blu-ray Disc release on October 14th via Shudder. This double feature includes films, both directed by Joe Lynch. First off, you get “Suitable Flesh” (2023), and next you get “Mayhem” (2017). In between the films, you’ll get all of the footage that was shown during the Shudder streams of these episodes of the show. The Shudder original series stars John Bloom (a.k.a. “Joe Bob Briggs”) and Diana Prince (a.k.a. “Darcy the Mail Girl”). The show is currently in its seventh season. These two episodes aired during seasons 6 and 2, in order of the film’s titles.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in 1.78:1 and 2.35:1 aspect ratios with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Stereo sound. The full runtime is 4 hours and 55 minutes, with extra time added to the movies for each, ensuring you get the show bits. Hopefully, we will see more of these home video releases of “The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs” soon from Shudder.

Chucky The Complete Series on Blu-ray September

TV Show “Chucky: The Complete Series” is coming to Blu-ray SteelBook and Blu-ray on September 23rd via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The show, based on the “Child’s Play” film series created by Don Mancini, includes the voice of Brad Dourif (as “Chucky”). It stars Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Devon Sawa. It also features the voice of Jennifer Tilly.
