Read moreThe original animated TV series “Super Friends!: The Complete Collection” is coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 10th via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The show, which ran on ABC from 1973 through 1985, has been remastered and will be finally getting its HD release, for the very first time. It includes all 93 episodes of the Hanna-Barbera produced 1973 TV series via the following:

The animated TV series “Arcade: League of Legends – Season One” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, Blu-ray Disc SteelBook, and standard Blu-ray Disc on October 8th via GKIDS / Shout! Factory. The show, as seen on Netflix, features the voice talents of Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell, Kevin Alejandro, Jason Spisak, Harry Lloyd, Toks Olagundoye, JB Blanc, Amirah Vann, Katie Leung, and Mia Sinclair Jenness. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and uncompressed audio (likely in 2.0 Stereo, although not yet confirmed), spanning across a 3-disc set. Tech specs for the Blu-ray releases include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and uncompressed audio, spanning a 3-disc set. The film, directed by Alexander Mackendrick, starred Alec Guinness, Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Cecil Parker, Danny Green, Jack Warner, and Katie Johnson.
The releases both come from a 2020 restoration by StudioCanal. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p Black & White video presentation in the original 1.37:1 and 1.66:1 matted aspect ratios with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and lossless Mono sound, on a 100 GB disc. Tech specs for the Special Edition Blu-ray include a 1080p HD Black & White video presentation in the original 1.37:1 and 1.66:1 matted aspect ratios with lossless Mono sound, on a 50 GB disc. The 2011 film “Cowboys & Aliens” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 17th via KL Studio Classics. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, starred Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Paul Dano, Clancy Brown, Keith Carradine, Sam Rockwell, Adam Beach, Walter Goggins, Abigail Spencer, and Wyatt Russell.
Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with SDR (standard dynamic range) and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and DTS-HD Master 2.0 Stereo lossless sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray will include a 1080p HD video presentation in 2.39:1 with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and DTS-HD Master 2.0 Stereo sound, on a BD-50 disc. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The 4K disc will contain the theatrical cut (119 minutes) and the Blu-ray will feature the “Extended Cut” (135 minutes).
The 4K UHD Blu-ray will NOT include any form of high dynamic range and the folks at KL Studio Classics have discussed this choice on social media, specifically on X, as quoted below.

The “Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection: Volume 5” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on October 1st via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The set includes the following six Columbia Pictures films:
“All of the King’s Men” was directed by Robert Rossen and starred Broderick Crawford, John Ireland, Joanne Dru, John Derek, Mercedes McCambridge, and Shepperd Strudwick. “On the Waterfront” was directed by Elia Kazan, and starred Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Lee J. Cobb, Rod Steiger, Pat Henning, and Leif Erickson. “A Man for All Seasons” was directed by Fred Zinnemann, and starred Paul Scofield, Wendy Hiller, Leo McKern, Robert Shaw, Orson Welles, Susannah York, Nigel Davenport, and John Hurt. “Tootsie” was directed by Sydney Pollack, and starred Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Teri Garr, Dabney Coleman, Charles Durning, Bill Murray, Geena Davis, and George Gaynes. “The Age of Innocence” was directed by Martin Scorsese, and starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder, Richard E. Each film in the set will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included along with a digital copy. All six films will be presented in 2160p resolution with high dynamic range and lossless sound. The release will include limited edition slipcovers for each of the six films, a hardbound 80-page booklet, and an exclusive 4K bonus disc. This 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook Box Set is now exclusively available to preorder at retailer Walmart.
The 1984 film “Body Double” is officially getting a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on September 24th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Brian De Palma, starred Craig Wasson, Gregg Henry, and Melanie Griffith. It’s certainly worth noting that this film is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range along with Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1, and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 surround sound. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder at Amazon and retailer Walmart. It’s currently much cheaper at Walmart versus Amazon. The release will come as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included (sourced from the 4K master) along with a digital copy.
