The 1954 film “Godzilla” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 5th via The Criterion Collection. The movie, originally titled “Gojira” in Japan, was directed by Ishirô Honda.

This has received a new 4K digital restoration. The tech specs for the 4K release include a Black & White 2160p video presentation in the 1.37:1 aspect ratio in SDR (standard dynamic range) with Japanese Uncompressed PCM Mono sound. This includes English subtitles. HDR (high dynamic range) will not be included in this release. The release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. This film follows the “One Piece” Anime TV series from 1999 and is an alternate-language version of “One Piece: The Movie” (2000).

The 1987 film “Planes, Trains & Automobiles” will get an Amazon-exclusive 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on November 12th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The film, written & directed by John Hughes, starred Steve Martin, John Candy, Edie McClurg, Michael McKean, Dylan Baker, and Laila Robins.

The movie back in 2022 received a 4K restoration and standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release. As previously mentioned, this 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will be exclusive to retailer Amazon where you can find it now available for preorder.
