The 2023 documentary series “Icons Unearthed: Marvel” will be available on Blu-ray Disc on January 14th via Mill Creek Entertainment. The Nacelle Company 8-episode series, directed by Brian Volk-Weiss and narrated by Joseph Culp, focuses on the history of Marvel Comics as a company and eventually as Marvel Studios with the “Marvel Cinematic Universe” series of films. This includes interviews with Lou Ferrigno, Clark Gregg, J. Michael Straczynski, Todd MacFarlane, Mark Millar, Zack Stentz, Victoria Bennett, JJ Field, and Jeph Loeb.

The tech specs for the release include a 3-disc set featuring a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The 1962 film Hatari! is coming to 4K in December

The 1962 film Hatari!” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Special Edition Blu-ray Disc on December 10th via KL Studio Classics. Howard Hawks directed and produced the film, which starred John Wayne, Hardy KrugerElsa MartinelliRed ButtonsGérard BlainBruce CabotMichèle GirardonValentin de Vargas, and Eduard Franz.

The movie has received a new 4K master from a 16-bit 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround and lossless 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-100 disc. Tech specs for the Blu-ray Special Edition include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and lossless 2.0 stereo sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release will come as a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray counterpart included.

The Killer’s Game comes to 4K and Blu-ray in November

The 2024 film The Killer’s Game will be released on November 19th on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc via Lionsgate. The film was directed by J.J. Perry and stars Dave Bautista, Sofia Boutella, Scott Adkins, Terry Crews, and Daniel Bernhardt.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio in HDR10 form of high dynamic range with Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. The 1974 film Chinatown gets a standard 4K in January

The 1974 film Chinatown will get a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on January 14th via Paramount Home Media Distribution. The film was directed by Roman Polanski and starred Jack Nicholson, Faye Dunaway, John Huston, Burt Young, Diane Ladd, and Perry Lopez.

The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will come with a digital copy. NOTE: This movie was previously released in the Paramount Presents line on 4K UHD Blu-ray but has since gone out of print. And, as a result goes for a high price resold on services like eBay. This new release will offer consumers a new and much more affordable release.

The Cell on 4K and Blu-ray Limited Edition in January

The 2000 film “The Cell” will be released on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc in limited edition sets on January 21st via Arrow Video. Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film starred Jennifer Lopez, Colton James, Dylan Baker, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Gerry Becker, Musetta Vander, Patrick Bauchau, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Vince Vaughn.

The movie has received new 4K restorations of the Theatrical Cut (107 minutes) and the Director’s Cut (109 minutes) by Arrow Films, approved by the director Tarsem Singh. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.
