The 2005 film The Descent comes to 4K in November

The 2005 film “The Descent“ will get a 4K UHD Blu-ray 20th Anniversary SteelBook on November 11th exclusively via Lionsgate Limited. Neil Marshall wrote, directed, and produced the movie. It starred Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder, MyAnna Buring, Nora-Jane Noone, and Oliver Milburn. This release will include both the Theatrical and Extended Cuts of the film.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible), high dynamic range, and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. This 2-disc set will be a “combo pack” featuring its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, as well as a digital copy. Below you can find a glimpse at the artwork and packaging.

The 2025 film The Roses gets a Blu-ray in November

The 2025 dark comedy “The Roses” is slated for a Blu-ray Disc release on November 25th via Searchlight Pictures (Disney). Jay Roach directed the movie, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman. It co-stars Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, Allison Janney, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Zoë Chao, and Jamie Demetriou. This movie is a reimagining of the 1989 classic film “The War of the Roses,” based on the novel by Warren Adler.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio with lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-50 disc. The release will include a digital copy, compatible with Movies Anywhere. The Blu-ray is not yet available for preorder at Amazon or Walmart, but stay tuned for an update on that. The 1992 film “Howards End“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on November 18th, courtesy of Cohen Film Collection, distributed by Kino Lorber. James Ivory directed the movie. It starred Emma Thompson, Anthony Hopkins, Vanessa Redgrave, and Helena Bonham Carter. The motion picture won a total of three Academy Awards (“Oscars”), including Best Actress in a Leading Role (Emma Thompson).

It has received a new 4K restoration from the original negative, overseen and approved by director James Ivory and cinematographer Tony Pierce-Roberts. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 high dynamic range and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, on a BD-100 disc. This will come as a 2-disc set “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

The 1997 film “Boogie Nights” will arrive on 4K UHD Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook in early December via Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, according to retailers. The title is yet to officially be announced, but the release date is shown to be December 2nd, according to Amazon. Stay tuned for an official announcement from the studio later to get the final word on the exact release date. Paul Thomas Anderson wrote, produced, and directed the movie. It starred Mark Wahlberg, Heather Graham, Julianne Moore, Burt Reynolds, John C. Reilly, William H. Macy, Don Cheadle, Nicole Parker, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
