The 1994 sequel “City Slickers II: The Legend of Curly’s Gold” starring Billy Crystal is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc, for the first time, on May 25th via Shout Factory‘s Shout Select line. The film, directed by Paul Weiland, co-starred Daniel Stern, Jon Lovitz, and Jack Palance. The tech specs for the release should include a 1080p HD presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio and uncompressed sound, likely in both 5.1 and 2.0 configurations. Stay tuned for if and when those tech specs get officially detailed regarding the sound. The Blu-ray can now be found available for preorder over at Amazon and also directly via Shout! Factory. The bonus materials for this release are currently in production and will be announced closer we come to the release date. So, again, stay tuned for an update regarding this release.

1966 film Django with Franco Nero on 4K UHD Blu-ray in May

The 1966 spaghetti western film “Django” starring Franco Nero is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on May 25th via Arrow Video, according to numerous retailers. The Italian film was directed by Sergio Corbucci. The movie has received a 4K scan from the original camera negative and then received a restoration. The tech specs for the 4K release of Django include a 2160p presentation in the original 1.66:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range as well as uncompressed Mono 1.0 PCM sound — with both English and Italian soundtracks and optional subtitles. There’s currently not a preorder listing for the 4K UHD Blu-ray yet over at Amazon, but there is a placeholder page where you can sign up to be notified (emailed). It’s also worth noting that you can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray listed for preorder over at online retailers DeepDiscount and DVDDiabolik. The 4K UHD Blu-ray limited edition 2-disc set will include a nice amount of physical extras (pictured below).

Supernatural Season 15 and Complete Series on Blu-ray in May

“Supernatural: The Fifteenth and Final Season” is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 25th via Warner. The series, which initially premiered in 2005 and ran until last year (2020) for a total of 327 episodes. The Supernatural TV series, created by Eric Kripke, starred Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The tech specs for Season 15 of the show on Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio surround sound, spanning across a 4-disc set. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the 15th season. You can now find the Blu-ray for The Complete Fifteenth and Final Season available for preorder over at Amazon. Fast Times at Ridgemont High gets Criterion Blu-ray in May

The 1982 film “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” will be getting a new Blu-ray Disc on May 11th via The Criterion Collection. The film, directed by Amy Heckerling and written by Cameron Crowe (based on his book), starred Sean PennJennifer Jason LeighJudge ReinholdForest Whitaker, Anthony Edwards, Eric Stoltz, and Phoebe Cates. The movie has received a new 4K restoration that was supervised by the director Amy Heckerling. Tech specs for the upcoming Criterion Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. The 2020 film “Wonder Woman 1984” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on March 30th via Warner. The film, directed by Patty Jenkins, stars Gal GadotChris PineKristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 4K presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDR10+ forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD presentation in the 2.39:1 ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. Both releases will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that the 4K will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart, the Blu-ray will come with its DVD counterpart, and each will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray both are listed as available for preorder over at Amazon. There will also be a 2-film bundle set available on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray including the first film [“Wonder Woman” (2017)] and this film.
