Amazon Commissions EarnedThe 1984 film adaptation of Stephen King‘s “Children of the Corn“ is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on September 28th via Arrow Video. The film, directed by Fritz Kiersch and based on the Stephen King novel, starred Peter Horton, Linda Hamilton, R.G. Armstrong, John Franklin, Courtney Gains, Julie Maddalena, Robby Kiger, and Anne Marie McEvoy. The movie has received a brand new 4K restoration from the original camera negative. Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and both the original 2.0 Stereo and 5.1 surround lossless sound mixes. The 4K UHD Blu-ray can now be found available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with this 4K release are listed below.
Amazon Commissions EarnedThe cult-classic 1982 film “The Beastmaster“ will be getting a standard 4K UHD Blu-ray release on July 27th via Vinegar Syndrome. The film has previously been released by Vinegar Syndrome as an exclusive on the 4K format directly on their website, but now will be available via other retailers in a standard form of packaging. The film, directed and co-written by Don Coscarelli and based on the novel of the same title, starred Marc Singer, Tanya Roberts, Rip Torn, John Amos, Rod Loomis, Ben Hammer, and Billy Jayne.
The film has received a new 4K scan and restoration from the original 35mm interpositive negative. Tech specs for the 4K include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and both the original Stereo 2.0 and 5.1 surround lossless sound mixes. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that it will come with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart in 1080p HD with the same audio mixes. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray / Blu-ray combo pack standard release available for preorder over at Amazon.
This version is not to be confused with Vinegar Syndrome’s previous exclusive 4K releases of the film and does not any of the physical extras that those did. I want to state that upfront. However, it will contain the following extras.
Amazon Commissions EarnedThe films “Demons” (1985) and “Demons 2” (1986) have both received new 4K restorations and are coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc via “Special Limited Edition” set on October 19th via Synapse Films. The films, both directed by Lamberto Bava and co-written & produced by Dario Argento, are cult classics and have previously been released on Blu-ray back in 2014 by Synapse Films.
The tech specs for the films on 4K include 2160p video presentation, from a new 4K restoration of the original camera 35mm negatives, with HDR10 and Dolby Vision forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Mono lossless mixes for both the original cut and U.S. theatrical cut. The 2.0 Mono lossless for the U.S. theatrical cut has been newly remastered by Synapse. The tech specs for the Blu-ray version of the set include a 1080p HD video presentation with the very same audio options. Neither of these releases will come as a “combo pack” so don’t expect the 4K to have its Blu-ray counterpart, or the Blu-ray to come with some DVDs. That’s not happening with this release. And, I for one respect that choice.
You can now find both the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc versions of the Special Limited Edition set available for preorder over at Amazon. NOTE: The 4K release will be region-free but the Blu-ray release will be Region A locked. Bonus materials set to be included with the set include some physical extras like a slipcover (o-card), a reproduction of the original movie ticket (for the first film), a birthday invitation for the sequel, a fold-out poster (for the first film), and reversible cover artwork. And, some new digital extras not featured on the 2014 Blu-ray releases will be included that are fully detailed below, after the break, for each version.
Amazon Commissions EarnedThe HBO original limited series “Mare of Easttown” starring Kate Winslet is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 14th via Warner Archive. The series, created by Brad Ingelsby, co-stars Julianne Nicholson, Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, John Douglas Thompson, Joe Tippett, Cailee Spaeny, Evan Peters, David Denman, and Guy Pearce. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with 5.1 surround sound (likely in DTS-HD Master Audio, although yet to be confirmed). You cannot yet find the Blu-ray available for preorder via Amazon or any other retailers, but stay tuned for an update. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.
Further below, after the break, you can find the official trailer for the limited series as well as the official announcement about the home video releases on DVD, Digital, and Blu-ray.

The only bonus material set to be included with the releases will be the following feature:
You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray of Zack Snyder’s Justice League available for preorder over at Amazon. Don’t worry about the higher MSRP prices, as these will drop soon enough, and Amazon offers a preorder price guarantee. So, you’ll only be charged before it ships the amount that it is at on release day.
There will be a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook release available for the film (pictured below), perhaps as an exclusive, over at retailer Best Buy where it’s now listed for preorder with the same (September 7th) release date. There also will be a box set coming to both 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray called “Zack Snyder’s Justice League Trilogy“ (also pictured below) that has appeared on some retailers. That set will include “Man of Steel” (2013), “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition)” (2016) [likely Remastered], and finally “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” (2021). The studio [Warner] has confirmed to me that the trilogy set is indeed coming but they have no full details yet regarding it, at this time. There’s also no preorder officially yet for that set yet but stay tuned for any further updates.
