2002 film Clockstoppers finally on Blu-ray in January

The 2002 film Clockstoppers is coming to Blu-ray Disc for the first time on January 25th, 2022, via Paramount Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Jonathan Frakes, starred Jesse Bradford, French Stewart, Paula Garcés, Michael Biehn, Garikayi Mutambirwa, Lindze Letherman, and Julia Sweeney.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray have not yet been announced but you can expect full 1080p HD video, likely in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio, with a lossless sound mix (presumably in a 5.1 surround configuration). It’s also unknown if this will contain all of the DVD extras ported over or not, but I would speculate that it should. That all being said, stay tuned for any updates regarding this release. 2021 film Werewolves Within on Blu-ray in December

The 2021 film Werewolves Within is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 7th, via RLJE Films. The film, directed by Josh Ruben, stars Sam Richardson, Milana Vayntrub, George Basil, Sarah Burns, Catherine CurtinCheyenne Jackson, Wayne Duvall, Rebecca Henderson, Michaela Watkins, and Harvey Guillén. It’s most certainly worth noting, at the time of writing, that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. Judging from the lack of mention in the press release, it would seem that no bonus materials will be included with this release.

The film, co-written & directed by Wes Anderson, stars Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Bill Murray, Jeffrey Wright, Adrien Brody, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson, Steve Park, Léa SeydouxTimothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Bob Balaban, Jason Schwartzman, and Christoph Waltz.

The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. The release will include a digital code (copy) of the film, compatible with Movies Anywhere.

UPDATE: You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, as well as at retailers Best Buy and Target.

It would appear, based on the press release, that no bonus materials will be included with this release.

The film, directed by Ridley Scott, stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver, Jodie Comer, Harriet Walter, and Ben Affleck. At the time of writing, it is certainly worth noting that this film is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 lossless surround sound. Both releases will come with a digital code (copy) of the film. The 4K UHD Blu-ray will come in the form of a “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

First Pirates of the Caribbean film on 4K in January

The 2003 movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on January 2nd, 2022 via Disney, according to retailer sources. The film, the first in the franchise, directed by Gore Verbinski, starred Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, and Jonathan Pryce.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray have not yet been detailed, in fact, the title has not yet been officially announced by the studio [Disney], but stay tuned for an update on that. It is known, from the cover art (pictured above) that the release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray counterpart as well as a digital code (copy) of the film included, compatible with Movies Anywhere. You cannot yet find the 4K UHD Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon, however, you can find the title for preorder over at retailers Best Buy and Target — where the release date is currently listed.

The Mitchells vs the Machines Blu-ray December

The 2021 animated film The Mitchells vs the Machines is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 14th, via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film, as seen on Netflix, made by the folks at Sony Pictures Animation, was co-directed by Michael Rianda and Jeff Rowe. It features the voice talents of Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Eric André, Olivia Colman, Fred Armisen, Beck Bennett, Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, Charlyne Yi, and Conan O’Brien. Lastly, regarding the film, it also is most certainly worth noting, at the time of writing, that this is “Certified Fresh” over at Rotten Tomatoes.

This version will be known as “The Katie Mitchell Special Edition” — where the character claims the following (on the cover art):

“Super special features made by me. I made this!!! So you gotta buy it!! I promise the special features are good & don’t stink.”
