RUMOR: “Happy Death Day 2U” starring Jessica Rothe comes to Blu-ray in May

The 2019 sequel Happy Death Day 2U is rumored to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 14th via Universal, according to early alerts to retailers. I am only saying this is a rumor as the studio has not yet officially announced this title. The film, produced by Blumhouse & directed by Christopher Landon, includes a cast of  Jessica RotheIsrael BroussardPhi Vu, Suraj Sharma, Sarah Yarkin, Rachel Matthews, and Ruby Modine. It is known that it will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is already available to pre-order over at Amazon and it even has a placeholder over at Best Buy (with the release date listed).

UPDATE: This release has been confirmed to be coming out on the date I originally specified. Production company Blumhouse has now posted a promotional ad on Twitter for the home video release which you can find HERE. The tech specs for the release include 1080p HD video in the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The bonus materials set to be included are listed below.

RUMOR: “The Upside” with Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston on Blu-ray in May

The 2019 film The Upside starring Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston is rumored to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on May 21st via Universal, according to early alerts to retailers. I am only saying this is a rumor as the studio has not yet officially announced this title. The film, directed by Neil Burger, co-stars Nicole Kidman, Aja Naomi King, Jahi Di’Allo Winston, Genevieve Angelson, Golshifteh Farahani, Tate Donovan, and Julianna Margulies. There is no info yet regarding tech specs or bonus materials set to be included on the release. It is known that it will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film included. The Blu-ray is available to pre-order over at Amazon and even has a placeholder over at Best Buy (with the release date listed). Stay tuned for any updates on this release.

Barry Jenkins film “If Beale Street Could Talk” is coming to Blu-ray in late March

The 2018 Barry Jenkins directed film If Beale Street Could Talk coming to Blu-ray Disc on March 26th, via Fox. The film, based on a book and nominated for 3 Oscars, stars KiKi LayneStephan JamesRegina King, Colman Domingo, and Teyonah Parris. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include 1080p video in the 2.00:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a DVD and digital copy of the film both included. There’s a pre-order listing live for the Blu-ray now over at Amazon. “The Street Fighter Collection” starring Sonny Chiba comes to Blu-ray in March

The 1974 trilogy of martial arts films starring Sonny Chiba comes to Blu-ray Disc as The Street Fighter Collection on March 26th, via Shout Select (Shout! Factory).

UPDATE: The tech specs for all three films include 1080p video in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio Mono sound. This comes according to the Blu-ray producer working on this release, thanks to our friends at Shout! Factory.

The Blu-ray set can be found to pre-order now over at Amazon. This 3-disc set includes a total of three films, listed below:

  • “The Street Fighter” (1974)
  • “Return of the Street Fighter” (1974)
  • “The Streetfighter’s Last Revenge” (1974)

The three films, all directed by Shigehiro Ozawa, have all received new 2K video scans and are all presented in their Uncut versions. More details about this and the bonus materials set to be included on the set can be found listed below.
