Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 on 4K and Blu-ray in February

The 2025 sequel “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and Blu-ray on February 17th via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Emma Tammi directed the movie, which was written by the original game’s creator, Scott Cawthon. It stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Wayne Knight, and Matthew Lillard.

The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-100 disc. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.00:1 aspect ratio and Dolby Atmos sound, on a BD-50 disc. The 4K release(s) will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. Both the 4K and Blu-ray physical media releases will each include a digital code (copy) of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.

Seinfeld The Complete Series on 4K and Blu-ray

“Seinfeld: The Complete Series” is finally coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on December 17th via Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The show, co-created by Larry David, starred Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Wayne Knight.

Tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio with HDR10 form of high dynamic range with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. This 4K retains an aspect ratio as the show originally aired on TV, and the Blu-ray will feature a widescreen presentation as seen on Netflix. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound. Each release will be a 24-disc set. The releases each include all 9 seasons of the series. You can now find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray sets available for preorder at Amazon.

1995 Gus Vant Sant film To Die for on 4K in March

The 1995 film “To Die For” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on March 26th via The Criterion Collection.  The movie, directed by Gus Van Sant, starred Nicole Kidman, Matt Dillon, Joaquin Phoenix, Casey Affleck, Alison Folland, Dan Hedaya, Illeana Douglas, Wayne Knight, and Kurtwood Smith.

The movie has received a “NEW 4K digital restoration, approved by director Gus Van Sant and director of photography Eric Alan Edwards.”  The tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound.  The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.  UPDATED:  You can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon and directly via Criterion‘s website. 1991 film Dead Again is coming to Blu-ray in October

The 1991 film “Dead Again“ is coming to Blu-ray Disc for the first time in North America on October 5th, via Paramount Home Entertainment, according to retail sources. The film, directed by Kenneth Branagh (also in the cast), starred Andy Garcia, Emma Thompson, Lois Hall, Richard Easton, Jo Anderson, Patrick Montes, Robin Williams, Wayne Knight, and Derek Jacobi.

UPDATE: The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 lossless surround sound. The bonus materials that are so far known to be included with the release are listed below.

Space Jam is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in July

The 1996 film “Space Jam” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on July 6th via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, directed by Joe Pytka, featured NBA legend Michael Jordan as well as the Looney Tunes animated characters. In addition to that, the cast also featured Wayne Knight, Theresa Randle, the voice of Danny DeVito, plus Bill Murray, and NBA players Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing as themselves. The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation with HDR10 form of high dynamic range, while the audio presentation has not yet been detailed. I’m waiting to hear back directly from Warner regarding if this contains Dolby Atmos or simply a lossless 5.1 surround sound mix and I hope to have an update on that for you very soon.

The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” meaning that you’ll get the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital code (copy) of the film. UPDATE: The 4K UHD Blu-ray now has a placeholder page over at Amazon, but still is not yet a functional preorder listing. Stay tuned for an update on that. The release will include the following previously released extras.

  • Commentary from director Joe Pytka, Bugs Bunny (voiced by Billy West) and Daffy Duck (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker)
  • Featurette: “Jammin” with Bugs Bunny and Michael Jordan
  • Music videos including Seal’s “Fly Like an Eagle” and Monstars’ anthem “Hit ‘Em High”
