The 1996 film The Phantom is coming to 4K in April

Simon Wincer directed the movie, which starred Billy Zane. The movie’s supporting cast included Kristy SwansonTreat WilliamsCatherine Zeta-Jones, and James Remar.

It has received a 4K scan of the 35mm original camera negative (approved by director Simon Wincer). The tech specs for the 4K UHD Blu-ray include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision (HDR10-compatible) with DTS-HD Master Audio lossless 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo sound options, on a BD-100 disc. The 4K release will come as a 2-disc “combo pack” with its Blu-ray Disc counterpart included.

You can’t find the 4K UHD Blu-ray or the Special Edition Blu-ray available for preorder at Amazon yet, but stay tuned for an update on that. The 1995 film “Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead” will come to 4K UHD Blu-ray. It will also be available in a Special Edition Blu-ray. Both will be released on April 29th via KL Studio Classics. Gary Fleder directed the movie. It starred Andy GarciaChristopher WalkenChristopher LloydGabrielle AnwarTreat WilliamsSteve BuscemiBill Nunn, and William Forsythe.

The movie has received a new master from a 4K Scan of the 35mm original camera negative.
