The Life of Chuck on 4K and Blu-ray in September

The 2024 film “The Life of Chuck” is set to release on 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray Disc on September 30th via NEON, distributed by Decal Releasing. The film was both directed and written by Mike Flanagan, based on a short story by Stephen King. It stars Tom Hiddleston, Jacob Tremblay, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Mia Sara, Mark Hamill, with David Dastmalchian and Matthew Lillard. It’s worth noting that this movie is “Certified Fresh” based on critics’ reviews at Rotten Tomatoes.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray tech specs include a 2160p video presentation in various aspect ratios (2.39:1, 2.0:1, & 1.85:1) with HDR10 and lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound. Tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 2.39:1, 2.0:1, & 1.85:1 aspect ratios with DTS-HD MA 5.1 surround sound.

The 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray are now available for preorder at Amazon. Additionally, you can find the 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray available to preorder at retailer Walmart. The bonus materials set to be included with both physical media releases are listed below.

Loki Second Season gets a 4K SteelBook in December

The Disney+ original series from Marvel Studios Loki: The Complete Second Season will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook on December 3rd via Marvel Studios (Disney). The show stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eugene Cordero, Neil Ellice, Tara Strong, and Ke Huy Quan.

The tech specs for the 4K release include a 2160p video presentation in the 2.20:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range and Dolby Atmos sound, spanning across a 2-disc set (each on a BD-100 disc).

UPDATED: The 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook is now available for preorder at Amazon and retailer Walmart. This will be a collector’s edition set physically featuring 3 exclusive concept art cards. The bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

Guillermo del Toro film Crimson Peak on 4K in May

The 2015 film “Crimson Peak” is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray in a limited edition set on May 21st via Arrow Video. The film, directed & co-written by Guillermo del Toro, starred Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaver, Burn Gorman, Leslie Hope, and Doug Jones.

The release will include some physical extras (pictured below): A double-sided, fold-out poster, four double-sided postcards, limited edition packaging designed by Crimson Peak concept artist Guy Davis, and a Limited edition 80-page, hard-bound book featuring writing by David Jenkins and Simon Abrams, an archival interview with Guillermo del Toro, and original conceptual design illustrations by artists Guy Davis and Oscar Chichoni.

4K UHD Blu-ray Limited Edition

The movie has received a presentation approved by the director. Tech specs for the release include a 2160p video presentation in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 form of high dynamic range and DTS:X sound. The 4K UHD Blu-ray limited edition set can now be found on Amazon for preorder. Bonus materials set to be included with the release are listed below.

“Iron Man” and “Thor” films on 4K in August

The five “Marvel Cinematic Universe” films Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), Iron Man 3 (2013), Thor (2011), and Thor: The Dark World (2013) are all coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 13th via Disney‘s Marvel Studios. These films’ tech specs on 4K all include 2160p video with HDR10 form of High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos sound. One last thing from a technical side: there is a variety of the 2.35:1 to 2.40:1 aspect ratios on the five different films. These films all will come in the form of “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart and a digital copy of each included.

All five of these “MCU” film on 4K UHD Blu-ray are now available for pre-order over at Amazon and Best Buy. Bonus materials will be included on the Blu-ray releases and are identical to their previous releases. There will also be limited edition 4K UHD Blu-ray Steelbook releases for each film exclusive to retailer Best Buy. “The Avengers” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” come to 4K UHD Blu-ray in August

Both  films “The Avengers” (2012) and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015) are coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on August 14th (the same day as the sequel) via Marvel Studios (Disney). It’s worth noting that both films were directed by Joss Whedon.

The tech specs for both releases will include full 2160p 4K video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio for “The Avengers” and 2.35:1 aspect ratio for “Avengers: Age of Ultron” with both getting Dolby Atmos sound. Both of these films on 4K UHD Blu-ray are available now for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon. Just click on their names above for links. Bonus materials set to be included on the releases have not yet been detailed, even in the press release, but you can likely expect all the previous Blu-ray materials ported over via the included Blu-ray Disc in each “combo pack” which will also include a Digital Copy of each film.

UPDATE: Okay, so not only are these coming out it seems as standard 4K releases but they’ll also be getting Exclusive Steelbook 4K UHD Blu-ray releases over at Best Buy, as you’ll find below. PRE-ORDER listings for those are live as well as ones for the standard 4K versions over there at Best Buy.
