Captain America: Brave New World 4K and Blu-ray

“Captain America: Brave New World” is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on May 13th via Marvel Studios (Disney). Julius Onah directed the movie, which stars Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford. It co-stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, and Giancarlo Esposito.
Several other versions will be released. First off, a 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook will also be available (pictured below).
A 3D pop-up Blu-ray release will be exclusive to retailer Walmart as well. It can be found pictured below, open to show its “pop-up” contents.
At this time, the 4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook, and pop-up Blu-ray are not available for preorder. But, stay tuned for an update.
Tech specs for the 4K release(s) include a 2160p video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision or HDR10 and Dolby Atmos sound. The tech specs for the Blu-ray release(s) include a 1080p HD video presentation in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound. The 4K release arrives as a “combo pack” with the Blu-ray Disc counterpart included. The 4K and Blu-ray releases will each include a digital copy of the film compatible with Movies Anywhere.
It’s also worth noting that a “Captain America 4-Movie Collection” is coming to Blu-ray on May 13th. This set is pictured below. It’s not yet available for preorder either. But, again, stay tuned for an update.

HBO mini-series “Watchmen” on Blu-ray in June

The 2019 TV mini-series (limited series) adaptation of “Watchmen“ appears to be coming to Blu-ray Disc on June 2nd, via HBO, according to retailers. The show, based on the graphic novel of the same title, was adapted by Damon Lindelof and ran for a total of 9 episodes. The cast for the series included Regina King, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, Sara Vickers, Jeremy Irons, Andrew Howard, Louis Gossett Jr., Jean Smart, and Tim Blake Nelson. Tech specs for the release have not yet been detailed, but stay tuned hopefully very soon for an update. The Blu-ray is now listed for preorder over ar Amazon and Best Buy. “Just Mercy” with Michael B. Jordan on Blu-ray April

The 2020 film “Just Mercy” starring Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Foxx is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on April 14th, via Warner. The film, based on a true story & directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, co-stars Brie Larson, Rob Morgan, Rafe Spall, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Karan Kendrick, and Tim Blake Nelson. The film was rather well-received by the critics during its theatrical run, in fact, at the time of writing, this currently carries a “Certified Fresh” rating over at Rotten Tomatoes. The tech specs for the Blu-ray include HD video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Atmos sound. The release will come with a digital code (copy) of the film.
