1990 Sam Raimi film Darkman on 4K in February

The 1990 film adaptation of “Darkman” directed by Sam Raimi is officially coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on February 20th, 2024 via Scream Factory (Shout! Studios). The film starred Liam Neeson, Frances McDormand, Colin Friels, Larry Drake, Nelson Mashita, Dan Hicks, and Ted Raimi. The tech specs for the release include a new 4K restoration from the original camera negative in the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of high dynamic range as well as DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo lossless sound. It’s most certainly worth noting that there will be a standard “Collector’s Edition” and a limited edition SteelBook release (pictured below). You can find both available for preorder directly from ShoutFactory.com‘s store. You can also find the 4K UHD Blu-ray standard release and 4K UHD Blu-ray SteelBook available for preorder over at Amazon, as well as over at Walmart.

Creepshow Season 2 on Blu-ray in December

The TV series “Creepshow: Season 2“ is officially coming to Blu-ray Disc on December 7th, via RLJE Films. The original TV series, as seen on Shudder, is executive produced by makeup special effects legend Greg Nicotero. The cast for season 2 included Kevin Dillon, Ted Raimi, Ali Larter, Thomas Howell, Iman Benson, Josh McDermitt, Ashley Laurence, Keith David, Ryan Kwanten, Breckin Meyer, Molly Ringwald, Eric Edelstein, Barbara Crampton, Denise Crosby, Justin Long, D’Arcy Carden, Kiefer Sutherland, Joey King, Anna Camp, and Adam Pally.
The tech specs for the Blu-ray include a 1080p HD video presentation in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 lossless surround sound. You can now find the Blu-ray available for preorder over at Amazon. The bonus materials set to be included with the set are listed below.

The 1987 Sam Raimi directed film “Evil Dead 2“ starring Bruce Campbell is coming to 4K UHD Blu-ray on December 11th via Lionsgate. The film co-starred Sarah Berry, Dan Hicks, Kassie Wesley DePaiva, Denise Bixler, Richard Domeier, John Peakes, and Ted Raimi. Tech specs for the 4K release include 2160p in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio with both Dolby Vision and HDR10 forms of High Dynamic Range and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The release will come in the form of a “combo pack” with a Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy of the film included. UPDATE: This 4K release is now available to pre-order over at Amazon.

“Candyman” with Tony Todd gets Collector’s Edition Blu-ray in November
The 1992 horror film “Candyman“ starring Tony Todd is getting a “Collector’s Edition” Blu-ray Disc release on November 20th via Scream Factory. The film, directed by Bernard Rose, also included a cast of Virginia Madsen, Xander Berkeley, Vanessa Williams, Kasi Lemmons, DeJuan Guy, Marianna Elliott, and Ted Raimi. Tech specs for the release 1080p video in the 1.85:1 aspect ratio and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio sound. The video here is a new 2K restoration taken from a 4K scan of the film elements. Both the Theatrical Cut and an Unrated Cut of the film will be included, all spanning across a 2-disc set. This release is available now for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon.
